Yeah I'm with you I think I would stick with 1 receiver. I hear switches & the batteries themselves are much more likely to fail than the receiver itself so that's where I think it makes...

I have had success with the Futaba S3305 servos...

I have had success with the Futaba S3305 servos for many years. They cost $35 bucks, put out 99 oz-in of torque at 4.8V. It is metal geared with twin ball bearings. A really good value in a servo.
