My covering irons always would go to a cold/room temperature status when the control knob was turned all the way down. Maybe they were an exception to the rule but I did not realize that.

Should or is it necessary to stop the flow of fuel through the pulse line. What would be the correct way to stop the flow? It seem like this would be a recirculation and mess up the needle settings....
