One thing I failed to mention in my post I think you should also have is a good basic <u>simulator</u> to practice on.  It will help a lot!!  Save money too!  LOL!:D

It is a definate learning curve. A coaxial is a better starter bird. I would go with the MSR or CB100. Also the smaller MCX coaxials by Eflight are a good choice. I own a Lama4 and it helped a lot...

My 2cents? I have 20 orders from HobbyKing and no glitches yet. Some very great deals there, just watch the weight and do the math like mentioned in the other posts.

4G3 is a small collective pitch Heli that I do not have but thought about a few times. I have the fixed pitch bird and man it is a handful to fly sometimes. Setup setup setup. VERY small parts too....

Laser.... Thanks for the tip on the parts supplier. Seems like a good Ebayer to deal with. Ihave 5 kids (three now grown) and I invested in rechargables a looong time ago....
