YS recommended the lightest weight Mobil ! because it didn't attack their silicone diaphragms nearly as much as petroleum oil. Cheap ATF is great because its thin and doesn't dry up like many other...

For some reason, OS is using a 17X30 bearing in the 65AX. This bearing was also used on the old 61FSR and very early 61SF/RF engines. This small bearing was quickly abandoned for a much stronger...

For me, 100LL doesn't stink and it stores very well. It does harden Tygon but wont touch black neoprene. Plus I get it for free! Avgas can be more difficult to get started when its very cold...

I have tried a lot of different stuff over the years. The problem is that many oils get gooey or even stiff like castor after a while. I keep finding that ATF is the thinnest oil that never gets...

Gas and electric are easier, cheaper, cleaner, and more convenient than glow. Naturally this has hurt the market for glow engines. Glow still has performance advantages in some applications....

Its the ring gap in conjunction with piston clearance. The leak is not as as great with fourstrokes because they typically have less piston/liner clearance than twostroke do. Once an engine is...

It is rare to find a competitively priced, nicely done, world class engine, that has exceptional support, and is made where it gets consumed. Any one of these aspects could justify the higher price...

It will run fine and usually make a little more peak power. Expect to do some carb tuning and having an oily exhaust. Pistons are usually cleaner and exhaust dirtier whenever more oil is used.

RE: What prop for a HB 40 PDP with tuned pipe?

Start with a 10x6 and verify that the rpm surges around 75% throttle on the ground. Adjust propeller loading or change the header length in order to achieve this. Your big trainer may be able to...

RE: DLE 15cc?

The key of the comparrison was in a much smaller faster airframe. Anyway a 91fs is even less than a .91 two stroke, add a pipe to that and it becomes equivalent to a 1.20 FS.

RE: DLE 15cc?

Exchange the pipe for a muffler then do a comparison in a faster airframe. This application is where a good 91fs will be as powerful with less weight.

RE: Anyone Measure The Static Thrust On A Super Tigre G.90?

I had an 7.5lb GP Ultimate what would knife edge loop with an STS90 turning a 14-5 Zinger over 11000.. The stock muffler hurt performance, no muffler was much better and a tuned pipe made it worth...

RE: Varible pitch prop development

The only advantage that I can see on a model plane would be the explosive response of having the engine and prop spinning at max rpm all of the time. I would not waste the power potential with a...

My 325 has hot and cold cylinders but they will drop out only when the L/S needle is much too lean or too rich. Try to identify the extreme cylinders by watching exhaust residue. The cold ones will...

RE: Why Gassers are more addictive or better than Glows e?

Gas vs glow is mainly about economics and convenience. Twenty years ago most modelers were stuck with small glow airplanes because the bigger stuff was just too expensive. Now 20-30cc planes and...

RE: OS61FSR or OS61SF ABC

Everyones experience has mirrored my own on this comparison. The 61FSR works nice with a 11x7, the carb acts too big for less rpm. The SF61 is more versatile and can work with less rpm although the...

RE: KOLM 4 STROKE GAS ENGINES

A three cylinder is out of phase with the prop just like a radial so they have the same rumbling sound.
