RE: fell in love with os

O.S. makes a fine product for sure. I have two .46's, an ax and fx which I received as gifts. Both have performed very well for many years. I also have several of the lowly TH engines that have also...

RE: fell in love with os

How come this never happens to me? There just isn't much you can say bad about O.S. engines other than the price. The two I have run great. Both .46's, an FX and an AX.

RE: Membership Numbers 2009 closeout, ETC>

There may be reason for optimism, Hoss. As a former pilot in the USAF, you're probably aware that for the first time the Air Force will train more remote pilots than actual stick and rudder guys....

RE: Speaking of Hobby Shops...

The hobby shop that I use - the only one in the area- is surviving but it is reliant on the RC car trade more than RC airplanes. He has a lot of stock for the relatively small space he alots for...

RE: Nothing Standardized in This Hobby

I have to agree that getting started in RC can be confusing and frustrating. But the rewards of the learning process can be great as well. It takes a little time and trial and error to learn the...

RE: .75 engine comparison

I have 2 of the TH .75's and both run great. The throttle transition is the smoothest of any engine I have. The price is nice too.

RE: AMA Charter Club question/s

Sounds about right to me. My club followed a similar route when it was formed about 20 years ago. We don't have an AMA charter, however, as the landowner / club founder felt it was too much hassle....

RE: WaaaaaaaHooooo!!! maiden flight GP Big Stik 60

A little faster than the ol' trainer, eh? I love my Big Stik but you definitely have to stay out ahead of it mentally. As for me, 4 flights and I start to get a little tired. Congratulations on a...

RE: Center of Gravity question.

I've got this exact setup. I assembled mine with tricycle landing gear and came out nose heavy as well. I moved the rudder and elevator servos back near the tail and still needed 1 oz on the tail to...

RE: need help with color for bottom of plane

Color contrast perception really seems to vary from person to person. I see yellow and red very well but blues and greens, even the bright neon shades just seem to disappear on me. Now that airplane...

I've got a homemade rack that is very similar but holds only 2 planes. I just bungee the rack to the bed of my pick-up and use rubber bands to secure the airplanes to the rack. They haul just fine...

RE: os 91 f/s

I had a TH .61 that sat for almost 4 years and was really stiff. I took the muffler and glow plug off and let it soak in some old glow fuel for a few days. Rinsed it off in alcohol and it fired right...

RE: Field etiquette

I flew every Saturday, 3 or 4 times each day, for 6 weeks before I soloed. I believe it was flight #22. I don't know if that's average but I'll bet it's close.
