RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII

I think it would fly it just fine. However, you definitely do not want any weight savings on the nose. Even using a recommended 61 2S or saito 82 will require some extra weight in the weight box. ...

RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII

Agree about the os 91 4stroke...I love it on mine and it sounds nice since I'm running a straight pipe (with perry pump). I'm sure a saito would be good too. I have several saitos and like the...

RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII

Bob, I just used 30 minute epoxy in assembling the tail. I didn't add any extra wood. I've flown this plane quite a bit and have put it through everything it's capable off. The tail has held...

RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII

My cowl didn't fit perfectly either. I did two things to help camouflage and/or fix the problem. 1) I added more mounting blocks so I could pull it all together better and 2) I painted red the...

RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII

As mentioned above I use an os 91 4 stroke. Here's what I did and some other options and some pics. This should work for os, magnum, asp and thunder tiger 91 4 strokes. Have dozens of flights on...

RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII

A friend of mine bought the h9 sopwith camel to go with my d7. He brought it over this afternoon and we finally got to have them in the air together. It was very cool. Both have four strokes and...

RE: Hangar 9 Sopwith Camel Landing

I have the marketing video from the horizon site of that plane on my computer. The next time we fly, I'll let you see it. The landing on it is not that pretty. The take-off is on tarmac or concrete...

RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII

I run a os 91 4 stroke, but the 70 will be plenty. The 120 probably would not fit - the 91 is pretty tight. There's pic of a 70 in one a few pages back. Using a non-saito 4 stroke will require you...

RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII

Keep in mind that the side pieces are part of the fuselage (glued to it). I do not think that they come with the cowl nor do I see them for sale in the parts on the horizon site. If you find a...

RE: Lado retracts, do the really exist?

I ran mine like the diagram chalmrast posted except that I ran them on a 5cell 6V batt because I liked the speed better.

RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII

That is really really nice.

Does it get confusing in the air with all of the lozenge?

What's your power source?

I'm really liking mine too, especially when it's calm. I've got a few...

RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII

Regarding the covering and landing gear complaints:

As to the covering, at least it's ultracote. It's easy to tighten with a heat gun. Mine looked horrible out of the box but some attention...

RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII

Azzir, I think sometimes you can get a lemon, regardless of mfg. It seems you've had enough issues, that you might have a bad one. I think some mfgs are more likely to have lemons than other mfgs. ...

RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII

I'm really enjoying this plane and, as I put it through its paces, am finding that it is much more capable than I originally thought.

Has anyone heard whether or not H9, in addition to the camel...

RE: Glow converted Fokker DVII

I've enjoyed the thread.

What would be the appropriate size 4 stroke for one of these conversions?

I like the d7 (and have the 60 size H9 version of it). But I think that I might like to...

RE: Lado retracts, do the really exist?

I agree Joe. The general wait sucked. The regular moving back of the projected delivery date was frustrating. The communications were not so good. But the product was nice.

I do hope they get...

RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII

Have you had any issues with the saito flex pipe cracking? If not, about how many flights have you had on the pipe?

I have some macs flex pipe in a saito 100 on a p40. It has cracked a couple...

RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII

No. There's only about an inch, maybe less (7/8" ?), between the cheek and engine mount at the closest point.

I believe that the reason that h9 spec'd this plane for the saito 82, instead the...

RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII

Jr/spektrum DS821 servos are on all flight surfaces. Some hitec standard servo is on the throttle. An ar7000 is my rx and I fly with a dx7 tx. A radicalrc a123 1100mah battery is sitting on top...
