RE: Starter Battery Pack

As long as it's not run continuously for more than a few seconds, it should last
a while. The battery was only $25 and I already had the charger. It's a little
cheaper and easier than messing...

RE: Starter Battery Pack

I hooked up a marine battery to my Hobbico 90 starter and it didn't make a bit of difference than compared to a small gel battery (power core). I decided
to bring up the volts and ended up doing...

RE: I need cold hard facts about which glow plug?

If your running a high nitro fuel, you might want to try a colder plug. Low nitro fuels do better with hotter plugs, and high nitro runs better on a colder plug. I broke-in a 40la with a hot plug...

RE: Saito 180 starter?

I bought a torqmaster 90 with the lead acid rechargeable underneath and really didn't like it either. I even hooked it up to a marine trolling battery, which made NO difference in torque.
I did...

Ultra Sport decisions...

I've built a four star 40 and think I have time to build one more kit. The kits I have to choose from are: new 40+, an older ('90's) 40 kit, and a new 60 kit. I also have an OS 70SII NIB. I'm...

Seagull Spacewalker Aileron Question

The book is a little bit vague about the aileron servos (2), but I'm wondering if both control rods for the ailerons should be in the same relative position, meaning both coming off the right side of...

US60 kit in late july

Well, looks like the Ultra Sport 60 kit will be available again in late July. I've got one on backorder already, and now have
ample time to consider what motor choice to make. I'm thinking about a...

RE: Removing those sticky weights

I always use lighter fluid (vm&p naptha) to remove adhesive residue. I haven't tried it on covering material yet, so test it first. Cheaper then goo gone, it always works.

Thanks for the help. Looking forward to swapping it out now. Just need to break it in on a test stand some more. 2 tanks down so far. :)

RE: Avistar questions

Putting the 52 4S in the avistar is not intended to add more power (46ax) but really a preference in sound and a slightly extended flight time. I am more concerned with a slight power loss. Am I...

Avistar questions

I have an Avistar with a 40LA that I would like to change. I came across a Magnum 52 4stroke and was wondering if anyone
else has tried this combo. Also, this plane tends to bounce on landing. ...

RE: Mode I or mode II

Is he right handed or left handed? Seems to me (I'm somewhat new here) that the dominant hand would control the elevator and aileron, etc.

RE: Man are you fat!

I'm having the same problem with being nose heavy. I really don't want to stick lead weights to the bottom of the stabilzer. What's a good way to conceal it?

RE: Ultra Sport "Lite"

Well, does anyone have some comments on how the "+" flies? I'm starting to think I might have to find a new kit to build if this one is so different. I don't want a 3D plane,
more of a sport flyer...

RE: Ultra Sport "Lite"

MinnFlyer,

What exactly is the difference between the U.S. 40 and the "+"? I have a 40+ that will be my next build, and I'm curious to know how the old
kit was done. Thanks for your help!

RE: Sig 4 * 40 Build

I sanded down the fuselage. I used some filler to make the tail end thicker since there is a hinge that goes there for the rudder. I also had to make a new plywood piece for the langing gear mount....

RE: Sig 4 * 40 Build

The plans call for a cut-out in the rudder to clear the wire, so I did that. I think I'll have to cut back the fuselage to make it all fit properly.
Thanks for the help.

I'm in the middle of a 4 Star 40 build and ran across a slight problem I'm not sure how to handle. The stabilizer is supposed to have a small flat spot on the leading edge
in the middle, where it...

RE: NTC3 Clutch Bell questions

I have a NTC3 Plus RTR, and I would like to change the pinion gears on the clutch bell. Are these gears replaceable, or
do I need to buy a new clutch bell? If they are replaceable, do I need to...
