It's all a trade off. The reason the original mount was that way was so it would break instead of the motor/crankcase in a hard crash. Let the plywood be the weakest part

hey Guys. I feel the love!!

What I do to keep the plywood from splitting is after I drill it all out I soak the holes and edges with thin CA which soaks in and hardens it. What ends up happening...

And now we have a production one that I started kitting and announced at the NEAT Fair. Same wing/fins as the original so it flies the same. There's even a video on the link GremTwin

Eric Henderson flew a Gremlin with dural landing gear on top of the fuel tank area and used the fins as rear wheels. He used to do inverted touch and goes with it. it was fun to watch
