Well, I'm embarrassed to say it, but it was a simple loose connection. Once that was resolved the camera worked fine with the 4.8v given out by the RX. whoops. :P

It doesn't look like those models have a seperate charging lead on the pack??? This looks to be the case with several of the smaller packs from TP. Were you talking about a seperate unit that plugs...
