RE: Large Singles = lower RPM?

DITTO.....I flew my Nosen P51 with a Quadra 75. The plane weighed ~40 lbs (glassed, painted and Likeline elec retracts). The 75 flew it comfortably. No...it didn'y have tons of vertical or extra...

RE: What are the pitfalls using LIFE batteries??

Nope.....they can be charged in like 15-20 minutes if you have a good charger. That is one of the huge benefits of them....that and no reg needed. I'm just starting to change over my big stuff to...

RE: IMAA Constitution Under Assult

The following is nothing new as "it" has been discussed elsewhere on the site......

Here's my "twist" on the declining numbers....in both IMAA and the AMA. It is simply a result of the aging and...

Did not get one yet but am glad to hear that apparently the AMA is considering doing something about FPV. I personally don't think it should be done as a "modelling activity". It's just too big of an...

RE: Weston Magnum

We are not talking abt magnum engines. He is referring to the plane called a magnum made by weston company. I just picked a used one up at a flea mkt with a YS 45 on a pipe. Previous owner was...

RE: What 3 blade prop for ZDZ 80

???....no disrespect but I think you are talking about keeping the same approx load on the engine when using the same number of BLADES. Going from a 2 blade 28x10 would have approx the same load as...

RE: Balsa USA 1/4 Scale Nieuport 28 Build

AGREE....lol. WW1 planes NEED an engine....either glow or gas! I am just starting to cover mine after being sidetracked on other projects for a year or two. I have a Saito 1.70 3 cyl in mine. Hard to...

RE: Parkzone Extra 300: Performance too high for my skill level

Keep it and get it set up "correctly". I have been flying a long time and this is by far the most fun electric foamy that I have flown. It is an excellent pattern/IMAC type of flyer. Not a good 3d'er...

RE: 3w 106 Question

Not sure if this might be part of the problem but thought I'd mention. Some 3W's had the "engine gurgling" syndrome when flying and rolling. It was found that the original reed block had a few areas...

RE: DA/3W/ZDZ RCexl ignition conversion kits

Looks good!! A nice and simple holder. A nice snug fit around the wire and sensor even without glue. If and when I have to "mount" an RCexcel ign onto an engine....I'll def be looking for these.

RE: Hitec X4 programing NiCd in Auto

I haven't played with mine a lot yet, but the few times that i tried cycling some NiMh packs to check capacity....i was getting very low numbers. I then cycled these samd packs on my old trusty FMA...

RE: DA/3W/ZDZ RCexl ignition conversion kits

I have done the "drilling new mounting holes" on both a DA and a 3W in the past and am glad to see this litttle guy. Just one question. I am no engine "expert" by any means but recall reading on the...

RE: New (to me) internet myth

INTERESTING....I "cooked" the cylinders on an old 3W 140 two years ago and did not notice any "pinkening" of the cylinders. I have noticed this on DA's though. My 3W was in a Trueworthy Pitts M12....

RE: Too much caution causes crash.

That vid of the floatplane crash is "funny". Looks to me like it was a very nervour/inexperienced pilot....flying very far upwind over a full scale float plane on the water...CRAZY. It amazes me how...

RE: Faulty Ignition – NOT!

How are the magnets "glued" into the hub? How do you remove an existing one and "attach" a new one? I have an old 3W 140 that I overheated and "cooked" the cylinders on. The prop hub on this engine...

RE: Firs Fun Fly/Fly-in - What to Expect?

RE: Does this mean no maidens @ Sanctioned Event?

I think this rule is slightly dated and could possibly need revised. I think the rule was written "back in the day" when guys actually built their planes and all or almost all were glow/gas powered...

RE: Local hobby shop want to teach at our field

If this was mentioned previously I appologize.

My main "concern" is the shop owner being described as a "good beginner" pilot. Perhaps he is not that well suited yet to be training anobody....
