RE: ST2300 Testing and Experimenting

You will have the exact same results with the Magnum 91/1.08 carb from hobbypeople.net. This carb also needs a sleeve to adapt it to the engine, and it costs $37.

RE: Super Tigre 90 w/ Bisson Pitts Muffler

Nah, it's a Master Airscrew. I haven't seen any difference in performance between the two, and they aren't as deadly. Haven't tached the engine in a while, but your numbers sound familiar.

RE: Super Tigre 90 w/ Bisson Pitts Muffler

I have the Slimline pitts on my G90 and I have no troubles at all. I closed the outlets a little to get a better high speed needle adjustment. I have plenty of power and no issues at all. I think...

RE: ST2300 Testing and Experimenting

I couldn't get ahold of any 5%, but I found some 10%. It doesn't run worth a crap and the needle has no effect. Other than that, the barrel keeps galling in the bore and freezing up. The screw...

RE: ST2300 Testing and Experimenting

I have some interesting news to report on my 2300. I have it setup in the stock configuration with the exception of a slimline pitts muffler. Running it on the 15% fuel no longer works. My high...

RE: Super Tigre G2300 for Ultra Hots?

My Sukhoi is 11 lbs and the 2300 is perfect. I think it would do very well. The 3D guys will disagree, but the hots is more of a fun fly design. I have plenty of thrust to hover, but the design...

RE: Why isn't the SuperTigre 2300 a popular engine??

I have my 2300 on a Goldberg Sukhoi, but if I ever lose it, I may go the 4* 120 route. My decision for a plane was between those two. I think it would be a great combination, and the fact that the...

RE: Super Tigre .90 steady running problems.

Well, since you brought up the 2300 thread, I will remind you that during my nitro tests I found that the engine ran cooler on 15% than on 5%. It also ran much much better. I used several glow...

RE: Super Tigre .90 steady running problems.

DAR,

You can throw around all the engineering and physics you want. The real world tests prove that 15% works best in SuperTigre engines. I've never seen a 61 turn a 14-6 prop at 12000 rpm....

RE: Super Tigre .90 steady running problems.

Say what you want about the high nitro being a waste and the engines are not designed for it. I'm not buying into that theory. I've done the flight testing to prove that the 15% works the best. I...

RE: Super Tigre .90 steady running problems.

My G90 runs absolutely perfectly on 15% Omega, 14-6 master airscrew, Slimline pitts muffler with the outlets pinched to increase the high needle sensitivity. It will run with them open, but I like...

RE: ST2300 Testing and Experimenting

My 2300 lives on 15%. I've tried low nitro, and it really kills the performance. However, the 1.80 would probably not even stay lit on 5%, so you still have a point.

RE: Astro Hog vs 4*60

I'd look at it this way. The Hog is a great airplane for a 4 stroke, while the 2 stroke is more fitting for the 4*60. I have flown both, and I actually like the 4* better for the way it flies, but...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Fly the model at various throttle settings and do some slow rolls and long climbs. You may have to dive before climbing to do this with low throttle. What I am suggesting is that it's probably not...

RE: Bisson or Slimline pitts muffler

Slimline sounds better on my g90 and g2300. Made better, too, but they still break when they hit the turf. I'm staying with slimline from now on.

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

I was getting a peak of 9100 on the 16-10, and I richened it to 8700 or so to fly. The 16-8 turned up over 9500, but that was a while ago in very hot weather.

As for the 18-8 being too fast for...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

I use a 16-10 2 blade, and I think it's perfect for getting the most overall power out of the engine. The 18-8 is too much, unless you want to lug the engine down into the 7000 rpm range.

RE: Learn from my mistake

I have crashed three models due to ailerons being reversed. Usually, it had to do with changing transmitters or working on the plane. I had my son on the buddy box with a Telemaster, teaching him...

RE: No more Blade cp!!!!!

The issue never was not being able to get it under control. I have flown the CX and a Trex SE. I've also flown a Bergen Intrepid gasser. My problem with the CP is that it's not designed to fly...

Sure. Sims are easy. Flying the blade is easy. It's just a POS, that's all.

No more Blade cp!!!!!

After spending 2 hours fixing and replacing parts from an earlier crash, I flew my Cp for the last time. I have just gotten so disgusted with the heli that when I crashed it THIS time, I just...

RE: ST2300 Testing and Experimenting

No, and I'm not going to either. The end of the ls needle is flat and sharp. The metering slot has the required taper to graduate the fuel flow. The other way to adjust the fuel flow in various...

RE: ST2300 Testing and Experimenting

Maybe I used the wrong terminology. The bore I am interested in is the diameter in the barrel, the part that rotates with the throttle arm, not any part of the carb body. This will never be...
