The original Titebond is fine for wood contruction, esp. balsa. Relatively easy to sand.
II and III are water resistant. That does not bring any value in model airplane building.

IIRC the prototype was a bit on the heavy side but this weight is impressive. Consider it is a bipe!

Or you just put another two aluminum spacers in place of those back mount rubbers and connect back of those with a simple plate. Then install a rubber in the center of the plate.
