For sure, even worse if the casting void exits to the atmosphere, as it did on my friends Saito. His engine had a casting void from the intake port into the rocker box area. The thing would run...

Needle adjustments affect temp/pressure compensation?

I'm convinced that how well the temp/pressure compensation works, richening vs. leaning, depends entirely on where the carb needles are set. I mentioned this earlier but didn't get my point across...

Well that sucks, sorry to hear the retracts didn't survive.

Instead of redeigning the wing spar location you could mount the main gear 1" behind the main spar and use down elevator for the rollout...

Bert, this CG calculator is excellent. I used it to determine CG on a scratch built pattern plane I got a few years back. I entered in the required dimension values, set the static margin to 15%, hit...

5" behind the CG seems way far back for the mains. The aircraft will likely not want to rotate on take off without a lot of speed and elevator, then all of a sudden leap off the runway risking a...

Kind of looks like many nose heavy landings I've had. Steep descent on glide and running out of elevator when time to flare. Most normally that results in a vicious bounce.

As fast as the pump increases pressure and as fast as the relief valve bleeds it off I don't see why it wouldn't work.

With an airbleed or 2 needle carb setup I'm thinking you won't need more than...

If I understand correctly, the first curve is fixed and simulates exponential muffler pressure with rpm. As with muffler pressure it will supply extra fuel with prop unloading in the air. The second...

No liner on a Saito 220, chromed aluminum cylinder. Yes it's round, as measured with a bore gauge and mic. The piston mics round as well.

I'm assuming the Saito steel ring deformed in the heat...

The piston ring in my Saito 220 is not round, not even close. Fairly certain that's why the compression never got solid and peak power is down. Ordered a RJM/Bowman ring for it, more later.

Chris, what if the pump were programmable with a curve, like the solenoid, while tracking rpm? I wonder how it would run, without the fueling solenoid.
