If you put the included ZDZ hardware on, you CAN'T leave the spring. so on a suggestion from Dick Hanson, I cut a thin slice of gas line making a little washer and put that under the "wheel collar...

you can get engine standoffs from Roger at Aerografix

I believe his website is:

I mounted a ZDZ 80 with some of his and they worked out great!

Update

I tried the "no heat" covering solvent. That actually seemed to do a really good job. (it's purpose after all, is to dissolve adhesive).

Ok, i've tried the goof off (which is water based). absolutely nothing! didn't remove any.

i didn't try googone because it has oil in it. remember, this is on bare balsa. i don't want oils...

BME 44 quits after long dives towards the ground

just a thought.....

maybe your clunk isn't heavy enough. the gas falls forward in the tank, but the clunk doesn't therefore starving the engine.
