RE: 102" Rudder Servo

I studied this over the winter. I came to the conclusion that the servo would have enough torque, but the aileron has to much flex. It needs to be driven with 2 servos because of the flex, or at...

Question for those flying IMAC with a 102" Yak

What procedure do you use to get a spin to judge well? I'm finding that when the airplane starts its rotation after the stall that the wing drops faster than the nose giving the illusion of a snapped...

RE: Problem with a pin switch??

OK I checked and I was not getting the pin in all the way. By supporting the rear of the switch I was able to push it in all the way. Besides polishing the end of the pin to make it more rounded,...

RE: Extreme Flight 88" Yak - Build and Fly

In the last day or so I read where someone was using a fiberoptic extension for throttle and choke, while getting servo power from the ignition pack. I think it was on the site that deals with flat...

RE: JR 8711 rudder QQ 102 yak 54

I'm using a mix of JR and Hitec. I'm not trying to push brands, just trying to offer a solution to the question you ask.The point I was trying to make is with the regulator like that you can drive...

RE: JR 8711 rudder QQ 102 yak 54

On mine I just set up I'm using 2 2600 lion into a super regulator. The regulator has 2 outputs. I'm using Hitec servos in the wing without match boxes. I ran both outputs to the receiver. If you are...

Optical ignition switch??

Can the optical transmitter be hooked to a knob on the radio rather than a toggle switch for operation? If yes, do I need to set up the endpoints any special way? Thanks, Tom

RE: Extreme Flight 88" Yak - Build and Fly

I am setting an airplane up for precision, and I want everything working in my favor. I'm not good enough to notice it either, but if you watch some of the freestyle flights with the high roll rate...

RE: Extreme Flight 88" Yak - Build and Fly

On batteries I came to this decision for another airplane. I went Litium Ion and regulators. Not because of weight, not because of capacity, not because of cost, but because the airplane acts the...

Cannister set up??

For those using a cannister set up for a DA100 on their 102" Yaks. Are you shortening the left header so the outlet of the can is forward of the former below the motor box? Tom

RE: JR Servo selection

Like already said the 8411's will work, but if you think that a bigger airplane will come later get the more powerful servos so you don't have to upgrade with the larger plane. Tom

RE: Let's see some videos and pics of your QQ Yaks

I'm getting close to being done with my all white blow out airplane. I'm just waiting on a JR8711 for the rudder, and deciding on batteries and switches. Tom

RE: elevator servos in the rear of a Taylorcraft

The Tcraft was a 2 place side by side, however this is a model of a clipped wing conversion that had a single center seat. Tom

RE: Wrecked IMAC-need replacement

The Extreme Flight 1.60 Yak would be a good airplane, also the Ultra Rc Giles would work with the same engine. You do need to make sure your servos are strong enough for the bigger airplane. Tom

RE: Extreme Flight 88" - First Photos! Build and Discussion

It looks like most of the people having a problem with the pull out are from across the pond. Maybe the video slows down having to travel that far on the internet. Tom

RE: Is this a Piper?

It's not a Curtis Jr., they were a pusher. It looks like a highly modified Piper Cub. The adjustable trim at the leading edge of the stab, the landing gear, the jury struts, the exhast, all make me...

RE: Prop Selection

I got to fly that set up some last year. The 27x10 works good for 3D, but the 28x10 works better for sequence flying. I plan on using the 28x10 PT Models prop on mine this year. Tom
