RE: ys 70 pipe

It's a four stroke. The exhaust system will have little affect. I have run mine with a straight pipe, no difference than with the stock exhaust.

RE: What's Up With Saito Spare Parts?

In the grand scheme, those engines are relatively rare except for the 180. It's probably normal for them to not bank up a shelf full of parts for the few engines out there.

RE: 1/2in epp too thick for 31x31

The easy way to tell if it's EPP is to bend it a sharp 90 degrees. EPP will bend, anything else snaps or shatters.

RE: 1/2in epp too thick for 31x31

I've never seen EPP at a hardware store. They will have EPS or some form of styrene foam. These are way more brittle than EPP. It's also heavy in comparison to 9mm EPP.

RE: im new to 3d do you fly all the time in high

I set up dual rates on my first MoJo. After I got used to it the next dozen planes only have high rates set up.

RE: Mojo or Primo?

The Primo is very aerobatic and 3D worthy and on low rates will actually do some nice pattern.

The new motor mounts are a ply/balsa/ply sandwich with hardwood rails for the engine to mount in....

RE: Mojo or Primo?

Of those two choices, a Primo would be slightly better as it handles a little extra weight better.
DEL-20 is really a 65 size profile motor but many have successfully put them on Primo and MoJo...

RE: is it really that good? u can do

No. It's a decent roller/hover trainer. Good entry level.
It's not great at 3D.

RE: inverted 4 stroke Saito 72.....help

It's pretty simple fellas. Keep the throttle close till its time to apply the starter. Glow on.
Trim throttle up. Give it about 10% on the stick the hit it with the starter.

RE: inverted 4 stroke Saito 72.....help

Yep. Prime not necessary. Keep the throttle closed at all times till you get the starter on it. Keeping the throttle closed will keep the fuel from flowing through the carb and filling the intake...

RE: YS90 and YS 63 need instructions on installing cam

It's right on page one of the manual.
http://www.ysengines.net/manuals-downloads/FZ63.pdf

Crank dot down, cam dot should end up at the top of the engine after insertion.

There is no...

RE: 3 axis Gyro

Not trying to attack your skill, but this kinda proves that the problem is in your thumbs. A gyro just helps auto-correct.

RE: YS 170 DZ Needle valve and regulator / low speed setting

It is not the same from engine to engine. Too many variables, needle difference, fuel difference, altitude difference.
Settings don't transfer from one engine to another. At best they can be used...

RE: Darn Motor Mounts!

I use 4-40 allens/nylocks all the way up to Saito 125.
Plenty strong to hold it and if a turf incident happens, I'd rather break the bolts than the crankcase.

RE: LSN on OS 55ax

The LSN WILL affect the HS setting.
If you are running a pitts muffler, you probably don't have enough fuel pressure so plug one of the ports and try again.

1. Set the HSN to peak -300 RPM

RE: YS 175 to gas prop size?

No. Not really even close. You can get one that's the same power but will be heavier and larger.
If you pick one around the same weight and size, it will be anemic in power.

YS wins this game.

RE: Old Engine

Put some fuel in the exhaust port and carb, then heat it up to about 200 degrees with a heat gun or blow dryer. Should loosen right up.

RE: how do you stop syphoning

The tank is pressurized, if fuel is coming out without the engine turning over, then your check valve (diaphragm) in the regulator has crap in it or it needs a new one.

RE: Saito FA-65 prop suggestion on J3 cub

RE: Did/does YS make a 1.80 4-stroke engine?

Barb sold her shop and is easing into retirement and is actually learning to fly. I learned at RC South back in '81-'82 and built 4 planes then life happened and I got out for a few years.
The club...

RE: Did/does YS make a 1.80 4-stroke engine?

Yes, and at Atterbury (Johnson County Park) in Edinburgh on occasion.

RE: Did/does YS make a 1.80 4-stroke engine?

Main thing is 20% oil. I like 30% Nitro. All synthetic. I run this in all my 4-strokes. Saitos love it too.

RE: to vibrate or not to vibrate...

You have to decide what's best for you. The mounts that allow the engine to shake eat some overall power. They do help you save some servo wear and battery juice.

RE: Did/does YS make a 1.80 4-stroke engine?

You made my point. It's not off the shelf performance. I typically don't fly in the garage either.
