RE: Government (temporarily) shuts down model flying in Atlanta

The most important is obvious, you would be risking inciting more attention and higher regulations towards model aviation. The feds don't have a sense of humor when it comes to this stuff.

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?

Congrats, she sure is pretty! Glad to see you venturing into the dark side. I don't know your experience level but nitro has some distinct differences of its own and, the NP Bobcat can be a...

RE: bobcat setup help

I hope you see this before you go to the field.

Move that CG to 10.3 max, you are headed for trouble at 10.75

RE: Bobcat-Confused why CG in forums is 3

If you read the original Bobcat thread you will see that I had problems with airstream interfering with muffler pressure (as the muffler is mounted backwards) I fixed the problem with an exhaust...

RE: Bobcat-Confused why CG in forums is 3

I dunno, I have always wondered if the fact that the fuel is not fighting against momentum of the plane keeps the Bobcat (fuel flowing backwards) type system out of trouble. We all know what happens...

RE: Bobcat-Confused why CG in forums is 3

At 10.25 the tank is essentially on the CG, balance it empty. You don't need a regulator, I don't know of any Bobcat 50 that has needed a regulator.

RE: THE SPEED POLICE HAVE ARRIVED!!!!!

I think it all comes down to common sense.

Is 200 mph fast enough to get your need for speed?, you bet it is.
Will limiting speed to 200 mph increase safety?, you bet it does.
Does setting...

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?

I another thread in extreme speed prop planes essentially the same question was asked about the prop for the TH .75. As I posted there the best performance I have had was with the 12x6 zinger. But...

RE: Pusher Prop for TH .75

Of all the props I have tried the 12x6 zinger pusher makes the most thrust and gave the highest top end. The downside is they succumb to pebbles or landing bounces very easily, so much so that I use...

RE: Spektrum 9100 RX question

Good comments all. I'm running NiMH batteries so the lipo or regulator issues I won't need to worry about. I know there are users leaving the batteries plugged in to the receiver and charging them...

RE: Spektrum 9100 RX question

Actually I was planning on not using any switches between the receiver and the batteries, mainly because that is just one more piece of hardware to fail and the system off current draw is less than...

Spektrum 9100 RX question

It it ok to charge receiver packs (2x2150 NiMH) using the servo plug while still plugged into the receiver via the EC3 connectors? System will be off of course.

Thanks.

Zenoah G-62 spark plug and ignition

I setting up a G-62 and I ordered 2 plugs from Horizon (RCJ7Y) which is the recommended plug. This plug I pulled out of the engine is a RCJ-6. This is a G-62 from the 90's and was set up by another...

RE: New SPEKTRUM 9100 RX with dual batteries

I'm setting up a 9100 in a giant Telemaster with dual NiMH receiver batteries. I don't like the idea of two additional switches for the batteries as that means two more possible failure points. The...

RE: Plan for model like Great Planes Patriot XL

I think there is a constant low level demand for these planes. My interpretation is the patriot is a good all around plane that is also easy to squeeze some speed out of. I think that nich will...

RE: Plan for model like Great Planes Patriot XL

I don't have one to offer, but I do think it would be good to have an "open source" planform similar to the patriot we could all enjoy. If we could gather together the right information like airfoil...
