i found that the carb had an airleak at the bottom of it. that seemed to fix the problem

worked great sorry for not posting, real busy, i had an air leak under the carb, tightend and sealed everything, works good so far.

if its not an air leak, could it be anything else.

My savage hase the .25 stock on it, about 1 gallon fuel through it, engine runs fine until it gets warmed up, about 1/4 tank of fuel through it. then it has a higher pitched whinning sound it won't...

Well, i got bored last night and decided to take the engine apart, well needless to say i just got back from the hobby shop, i had to buy a new head, small crack in it where the bottom of the head...

The Throttle linkage should just snap off, as for the spur. after melting 3 regular ones, i went to an aftermarket hardend steel one, make sure you change the bell also, there's kits you can get that...

I use FLUX, and Electrical solder, i also use a soldering gun not a torch on wires. i use a torch on linkage.

i use the blow dryer, it seems to help, i've also taken the glow plug out and pulled a couple times to help the piston get lubricated alittle, don't know if it helps this engine, but old habits die...

I'd suggest saving alittle more and go with the HPI TRUCKZILLA Kit, i bouth mine off ebay for $270. that gives you upgraded tires, frame and engine. The .46 Engine is...

i kknow, i know, like i said earlier just getting into the rc trucks, i'm use to airplanes.

i switched it back to pull start, its starting a little easier now, espically when i warm up the head....

i used the pull starter, but i ended up tearing up my hands a little, the pull starter kept binding up, so i switched to the roto start, i've broke in tons of engines for my airplanes but never had...

nope this was the ARF version, it calls for epoxy. the Avistar RTF is just like the one your talking about, but it also has a metal brace rod that goes in the wing for extra bracing. i wish it was...
