RE: Return of Lunchbox..

True, it would require some travel adjustments (easy with the stocks, with spacers on the top as you mentioned, rather difficult with oil shocks though).

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Looks good, that seems to be one way to do it, and with a thinner king pin it would be almost perfect. Lot's of camber there, intentional?

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I don't know, just shot a wild guess. I would also be interested in switching the tires at the same time, so the width does not really count, as long as they fit.

Broncojd - sure, let us know if...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

That was what I found odd - surely judging from the picture, the rim is wider than the diameter, but still the specs says 2" wide, 2.2" diameter... Box wheels 2.2" wide (long), and I guess 2" in...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Would something like this fit - it says it comes with adaptors, but does not show what type (just lists brands, incl. Tamiya). The size is right, right?

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I couldn't really fit the spring there, and they indeed would have been way too stiff (I don't think it would have moved much :)), saw that you did the same thing.

Hmm, new wheels, that would be...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Here's one video shot handheld while driving (so that's the reason box is not really in full control, still need some practise :))

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Is there any other way? :D Seriously, it's not how I drive but where I drive - on the rocky forest trails you're bound to flip over once in a while (if you want to ride in interesting places), and...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Tried the toe-out - no difference in the sense I hoped for. Well, getting used to this limitation.

Couple of aftershots, box has got some hits (even broke a window :)), on the body, the chassis...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I did buy a Tamiya's servosaver, I guess it is a bit stiffer than the stock. But the issue is not really about that, but just that the max steering angle is too small, would need couple
of degrees...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Brushless, yeah right :) I think that would be too much (both speed and money-wise) for this box project. But Sport Tuned sure surprised me, it's pretty fast, and has lots of torque as well.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Texture came from the pink layer (had a faulty can, that made an uneven surface (too thick spray), that was rounded up by the orange layers.

I was anooyed about it at first, but then it came out...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Photos I took are not very good, it does look a bit different in real life (need more light). All the stickers pop out well (because of the borders, only the orange "flash" on the sides blends in)....

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Couple of more.

Oh, and also how it was supposed to be first - but then run out of paint and since I couldn't get my hands on to more LeMans Racing Pink in next weeks, made a quick decision to...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

It's finished :) Running out of daylight, but see couple of photos attached. I wanted to go with orange, matching with the shock springs, but still keep the Lunch Box appearance (gotta use those nice...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Yup, saw it, sure is fast with the BL. I had tough time even with mine going full speed, have to try the wheelies soon (I can also clip off the batteryback) :)

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I switched it over SW1 when I got to read how to do it :) Much better over there, even for lightning purposes.

In my opinion the shocks were cheap (the other option (Tamiya oil shocks) cost 60...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Getting dirty with the box - Finally got to ride it outdoors. It was semi-wet and as I haven't finished up the body yet, I was concerned on how much grit and stuff would get in, but was surprised to...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I did check that option only, but I understood you can only use the SW1 for that, which is 1) already in use for the 3rd channel 2) easy to accidentally switch on. Don't have the manual at hand now...
