With the original xicoy ecu, pumps could end up running uncontrollably if the ecu was damaged (I think a mosfet could fail closed after overheating).
Not sure about the kingtech ecu... odds are...

Had the same problem once with a servo cable running too close to the rpm sensor's cable.
Getting an actual signal from the engine would fix that. Still moved the cable away to cure the problem...
