RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread

Mike I have been building them so the motor mount is forward of the motor. I think you have seen my PQ Stingray and SD builds take a look at what I did for the forward engine mounts for electrics. ...

RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread

LOL, your right Mike sadly that is so true...

So are there going to be future runs of the SD?
I understand your modeling efforts have been sidelined because of your work, your .65 version...

Proven no, but a few good ideas have been posted earlier in this thread and others...
Evan-rcu has suggested that a NEU 1515-2.5D would be a good choice to try (look at the discussion we had about...

RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread

The laser cut precision is nice, but for a skilled builder like yourself, it's really not all that big of a deal.
Your version of it came out pretty nice...

RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread

Also if you look back in this thread (somewhere in the firs quarter of it) Mike built an electric version as well using an out runner mounted up front.

RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread

Thanks Smoknrv4!
This is such a good design it can't be allowed to fade away.
Yes a laser cutter would be a nice addition for the shop, especially were I have already got CAD drawings...
I know...

RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread

It's kinda sad...
This plane is a real good design and has real potential. Combatpigg was able to break 200 mph with his Nelson powered one right off the bat, and the airframe is strong enough...

RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread

RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread

Your first video was impressive before you tweaked it a bit.
I bet it was a lot hotter with the 20k plus spin.
If you clean it up as well, I bet it will get real interesting...:D

RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread

Very nice!

RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread

Troy,
How about a tapered ring that the cowl will butt up against when it it installed.
Something that will blend the spinner into the cowl is what I am thinking would look nice, as well as...

RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread

Goose thanks for the info!
100 amps wow that's a lot of juice talk about melting stuff.
I know an 8 cell setup is a bit much for this frame, I had thought about using li-pols but like you I like...

RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread

Goose,
Your kat look awesome!!!
Sound like it is a real screamer.

The 40,000 rpm is what it is rated for in a DF unit I doubt that I will be able to swing a prop that fast. Although I have...

I have no doubt that Goose will be in the air before I start. I am also willing to wager that that is going to be one quick airplane....
I really think that it...

RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread

Mike,
I really want to do an electric, but I have this fairly new OS.46FSR that would be an interesting power plant for this plane. The final arbiter will be what I can afford to do as far as the...
