RE: Eclipse 7 PCM

Good Grief KP !!! You're coming in 8 yrs after the last post! I will say I just got a HT 2.4 ghz module for my Futaba 9c and love it and I have a friend who got one for his Eclipse Tx and it's...

RE: Measuring Current (amps)

Why would you have to destroy your charger to put your meter in series with the battery and charger? Cut one of the lines going to the battery and put your meter (in amp reading mode) in series with...

RE: RC Report Online!! For Real!!

I read RCR from cover to cover and liked all of it; even the areas I don't participate in were of interest. What about Ed Moorman's "Fun Aerobatics"? Is there any talk of putting together all his...

RE: I'm stuck on buying the radio equipment part,

I think Foamaholic is right unless you're really strapped for $, especially since you're just starting in RC planes and don't have anything invested in a bunch of non-SS rx's. The Futaba 6 & 4 chn...

RE: 2.4 GHZ Universal RX

The $500 Weatronics rx kinda misse Eplane's point about a generic rx, don't you think? It's not an issue of "cracking codes" so much as economics and market share. SS technology has been around since...

RE: 2.4 GHZ Universal RX

How do DRM laws apply to SS protocols? I imagine one of the reasons no one made PCM rx's for other makes was there wasn't much market compared to FM rx's. Seeing how Futaba uses a freq hopping scheme...

RE: GP Ultimate aerleron flutter

I don't know about that Brian; if the wing shifting was what was fluttering, I'd think there would be some real damage to the plane. Do you have the linkage on the outer hole of the servoes and an...

RE: Save $20 on a 50$ order from Tower..

I just got another Tower email offering $20 off a $50 order or more. The code number is 016L7 and is supposed to be good thru 6/30.

RE: why is my muffler tarnish after only 3 flights

Don, I didn't say I didn't believe you; I just said you were cheating on the bragging rights. I also now note that you are one of those Canuck flyers, so there's another way you're cheating; flying...

RE: why is my muffler tarnish after only 3 flights

Don M. is right about syn oil being better than castor for tarnish, but he's obviously cheating on the bragging about his "clean" OS120 muffler. As Duncker noted, the 4C exhaust is hotter, but DonM's...

RE: trainers

Fred, You're getting some good advice here if you'll listen. Since you're a new member with just 6 posts, I'm assuming you're a newby looking for your first plane so the advice boils down to "Don't...

RE: Horns

Make your own with 4-40 bolts , blind nuts, and aileron horn brackets (DuBro #557). Drill a hole thru the control surface, screw a blind nut on the bolt with the non spike side toward the head of the...

RE: GP Ultimate aerleron flutter

I agree with Gringo and John Buckner. 85s are mini servoes; maybe you could stiffen up the mounting with some double sided tape. The counter balances work great too. I made some with some 1/2 oz...

RE: Save $20 on a 50$ order from Tower..

I just used the 016J7 code (3:45 PM 6/26) and got $20 off. The 016D7 code I got 6/6 in an email did not work and the Tower site said it had expired. I delayed my order and then happened on the RCU...

RE: Want to install Flaperons

Try landing with the ailerons up! This is the "air brake" configuration and gets around the loss of washout and tip stall problem by actually adding washout. It also makes the plane really stick...

RE: Single VS Dual Conversion RX's & Interference

This question points out some interesting things that are happening in the R/C electronics world. There are SC Rxs and then there are SC Rxs with additional technology. Used to be, JR was the only...

9Cs trainer cord with older Tx

I just got a 9Cs system and love it! I have and older T6Xa Tx I'd like to use as a buddy box. I know I can get a cable to do that, but I was wondering if my adaptor cable from my Great Planes...

RE: Tracker III Preliminary Manual now on line

The Futaba 9ZAS/9Z WC2 w/TK-FSS & R319DPS receiver gives you synth TX and RX with a 15 model memory and all for just $1180 ! Yes, it looks like the Tracker's gonna be a bargain and stretch the...

RE: Burg Receivers...Why Should I?????

Silly,

Hitec TXs are normally neg shift, not pos shift like JR. The Prism, Eclipse, and the Optic are switchable, but the standard Hitec mode is neg shift.

RE: Hitec Reciever/Crystal Question

You've got a receiver made for negative shift transmitters like Futaba and Hitec. JR tx are positive shift. Hitec does make Rxs for pos shift, but it will be labeled "For JR and Airtronics" and they...

RE: Magnets and receivers? HELP

Dirtybird,

Apparently Rodney went to school before the GUT. Or he's talking about an AC mag field (as with a shaker motor) vs. a fixed mag field. Now do you know the difference between the...

RE: servo ext. wire size

I don't believe you'll make things any worse with the addition of a 3 ft of 20 ga wire vs. all 20 ga wire, but you may still have problems due to long servo leads. Incidentally, I think your "normal"...
