Made one from a P-51D canopy years ago. Reversed it and trimmed to fit. Was not the exact original look, kinda taller at the rear, but fit well and gave my HH a distinct look.

RE: Setup details on a Modeltech Calypso

The cutouts were for, I think, Supra retacts but would probably fit others with maybe some minor adjustments.

RE: Golf ball dimples

The efficiency of a surface treatment is surely dependent on the speed at which the object is moving through the fluid mass. Also the density/viscosity of that fluid mass. Airliners through high...

RE: Types of Webra 60 questions

There was also a side exhaust LS. I have three. Two ABC and one ringed. There was a Blackhead Speed side exhaust, maybe heli, model too.

RE: Setup details on a Modeltech Calypso

I have one I built in the '80s with an OS FS 90 4 stroke mounted inverted. This is the second FS 90 I've had on it. The engine is no real powerhouse but flies the plane very well and at a rather...

RE: sticky epoxy

Helping newbies over the years, I have noticed that many will not thoroughly mix the epoxy 'parts' (A&B). Even if they use equal amounts, it seems that they think a few 'folds' is enough to mix the...

RE: Elevator SNAPROLL

"First, build a wing with less radical tapers and sneak in some extra wing area."

Exactly my plan for an upcoming Sukhoi 29 ARC build. Already have the cores for a new wing, still tapered but...

RE: Removing glow engine cylinders

Not familiar with the K&B but some cases need to be heated before the sleeve will come out. I also use wood (round toothpicks) through the exhaust port to push against with the piston top. There are...

RE: Super Tigre prices appear to be heading up

I've enjoyed many years (35+) of good running SuperTigres of various sizes. Is it me or the engines? The prices have always been and are still one of the good reasons to buy them.

RE: Stuck Carbs

Some carbs with steel barrels wil rust in place. I've used EvapoRust to free up a few. It is a vailable at AutoZone and is non toxic, fumeless.

RE: ca hinge with epoxy?

Maybe some thin balsa could be used to fill in (or to shim) the 'too big' slots? Then the CA hinges could be used like in a 'new' installtion.

RE: Dirty Birdy Build Thread

Laminations of balsa can be made to whatever thickness needed (could be stiffer than single thickness) then shaped (planed, sanded) to become a tapered aileron. A built up aileron could be built.

RE: full scale?

Full scale planes carry a lot of weight on their tailwheels and it isn't unusual to see one canted some. Maybe he was turning when he stopped.

RE: Land from a flat spin?

Here's one. You can find a few more searching around YouTube. Haven't been able to find the gasser landing.
