Yes there was a 1/2A kit. I still have a 40, 10 and 1/2A kits which I use as templets. Kits occasionally pop up on E Bay. Pricey, considering the original kit prices.

No one can tell you how much weight to put in............It is up to you to balance at the CG point. Each plane will require a different amount of weight based on the equipment installed.......
