RE: Great Planes Escapade .40 ARF

I love the decals!<div>
</div><div>I sold my Escapade this week to my flying buddy. He's ready to graduate from his high wing trainers and has had terrible luck with cheapo chinese ARF kits, so I...

RE: Great Planes Escapade .40 ARF

I used to run with my battery strapped to the tank too and my 55AX as far forward as it would go. Seemed to balance out nicely there.

RE: Great Planes Escapade .40 ARF

I've heard bad things about that place.<div></div><div>So I've decided to sell my Escapade. I'm just not happy with Glow airframes and I cannot seem to get my confidence back. I was offered a Twist...

RE: Great Planes Escapade .40 ARF

Good point. I think I'm just going to cut them off. Is there really a reason to have them on there?

RE: Great Planes Escapade .40 ARF

I followed the manual completely. Only thing I did differently was to put some fiberglass cloth and epoxy on the landing gear "bay" (pack the blind nuts with vaseline first so the epoxy doesn't get...

RE: Great Planes Escapade .40 ARF

Maidened my second Escapade today. She flew fine but I think I need to shift the CG forward a little and maybe go down a prop - she landed very very fast with the 55AX and to be honest, was a little...

RE: Great Planes Escapade .40 ARF

I don't think the kit even includes the cowl for that price. I could see the price increase for the included cowl and maybe some better QA, but from what I can tell it's the exact same kit.

RE: Great Planes Escapade .40 ARF

Just noticed that Tower has increased the price of the Escapade to $129.99 now.<div>
</div><div>I bought my original one for $98 with a coupon that brought it down to around $80, and the second one...

RE: Great Planes Escapade .40 ARF

Engine has to go in (arrived today), and throttle plate/servo. Wing is done, rear is done and so are the servos. I guess it's just the engine, linkage, servo and plate and then the wiring harness,...

I will if I ever get it finished! So many projects right now (and stuff around the house) there's not enough hours in the day.

RE: Great Planes Escapade .40 ARF

Grats mate. I actually picked up a used 55AX for mine so the 46 can go in the trainer. Hard to pass up a basically brand-new engine for $65!<div>

RE: Firs Fun Fly/Fly-in - What to Expect?

As I said, I saw people doing it. I didn't do it. I left my new plane at home and took my cub and enjoyed it a ton. I didn't fly much but it was still enjoyable. As I said I shall be returning for...

RE: Great Planes Escapade .40 ARF

I'm running a 46AX and it's plenty fast enough for me even with the stock muffler. I am currently using Futuba S3004 servos but I'm considering upgrading to something digital. Any recommendations? I...

RE: Firs Fun Fly/Fly-in - What to Expect?

I think my fave was the Sbach - there was a tiny Micro one and a 70" or so one. Fantastic looking aircraft.

RE: Firs Fun Fly/Fly-in - What to Expect?

I guess so. Doesn't change the fact that I saw at least two aircraft being maidened (by the owner's admission). I just stayed out of the way. I didn't fly too much as the level of this club was WAY...
