They rig that angle into it to make the plane fly right. Nothing to worry about there. I know it looks goofy. As long as the motor and mount feel solid, you're good to go.

I agree Pelican cases are awesome. I've been using an electric carving knife to cut the foam and it does pretty good (better than a regular knife)
