RE: Lipos inside the carry on Luggage?

I actually recalled reading that they must be brought on carry-on baggage. When checking my R/C helicopter in its case at the airport I was asked if the batteries were removed and I said they were...

RE: Wow thats hot! (Batt Gen Q)

I think this is a perfect scenario that calls for a wattmeter. You won't really know how many amps you're pulling until you see, and then you'll know whether or not you're draining the pack too...

Yay! Some T-Rex hopup parts available through Horizon

For those of you who have hobby shops near you that don't carry T-Rex parts but do use Horizon Hobby (owns JR, Spektrum, Hangar 9, carries a lot of other products...) as a distributor (like me), good...

RE: TREX Servos

Just bear in mind that the 281's are slow, slow servos, we're talking .22sec/60deg slow. That's twice as slow as a 56.

Give the HDS-877's a look. I use one on my tail and it's just rock solid,...

RE: How to Roll?

Definately get a simulator! It looks expensive, but believe me after 2 or 3 crashes (decent crashes) with your Blade you would have already paid over half the cost of a good simulator.

Also,...

RE: Align TREX 450XL

For the most part, I can say that you get what you pay for, but that doesn't meant that you should pay too much. If you skimp on a good setup right now you'll hate yourself for it later. I'd say......

RE: vibrations.....

If the screws holding your blades in the grips are too tight it will be difficult for the rotor blades to straighten out. Physics will do its thing as the rotor blades, from centripital forces,...

RE: Hyperion E-Meter Tach tips

Haha sounds cool, I'm in Foster City.

Yeah, so far sunlight has worked fine, so it looks like that's what I have to stick to for now. It kind of makes sense though why even an incandescent bulb...

RE: after market radios that are compatable with the blade cp stock electronics

A JR radio won't work with the stock RX because all JR radios are Positive Shift. Same with Airtronics (not that anybody really uses them for helis....).

Hitec and Futaba are Negative shift so...

RE: Blade CP Options

If you do go for a higher output motor just don't waste your time trying to go brushless. I had plenty of performance with the 370 motor with 9t pinion from the aerobatic kit. I have heard of...

RE: Help on spending some money an a t-rexLOL

But it's the HDE version, your radio has 120° CCPM mixing right? Because the CDE version will be loads better. Not a hundred linkages to work with so fewer parts and it will get you better holding...

RE: Blades factory balanced, BS!

The way I balance my blades is simply take a vice grip, a vertical one of course, take a razor blade and stick it in the grip, making sure it's as horizontal as possible. You then place the blade on...

Hyperion E-Meter Tach tips

I've got a Hyperion E-Meter that I'm using to help bench my T-Rex 450 XL CDE and get everything sorted out before I start flying. I find the tacho to be an invaluable tool but I've only had decent...

RE: Governor Mode = Tail issues? T-Rex 450XL CDE

I'm using a 500T as well, an E-flite S75 servo on the tail and a Mega 16/15/3

I'm still benching my T-rex XL CDE but I know what you're talking about. I could hold it from the bottom and...

RE: Spektrum DX6

This radio has really interested me, the whole system of DSM has so much potential to revolutionize R/C aircraft that it's scary. What am I going to do with my 6102!?! And have you seen the...

RE: Gyro Question

Yep the 401, and pretty much any gyro capable of high-rate mode for digital servos, allows you to set it to normal rate mode so it won't bust your typical analog servo.

As far as the 401...

RE: Blade cp bell hiller upgrade

It will really improve responsiveness and increase roll rate, so it's more suited for stunt fliers. Although I have heard that it also makes the heli more stable. We will certainly be ordering one...

RE: Battery life problem

If you're using a 3S lithium battery, the problem is in your cutoff voltage. As previously stated, the cutoff for a 3S pack should be between 9 and 10 volts. Also, as previously stated, your pack...

RE: Best Heli + Airplane Trainer?

To be honest I don't think that there is much to flying airplanes. If anything you could probably use FMS for that kind of stuff. Where you really want your money to go to is a sim that does helis...

RE: New to RC Heli's

Amen.

Go with an electric. Most of them you can get for well under $300. I'd recommend the Blade CP because I learned off of it, but it's not an easy heli to start with, so you'll be breaking...

RE: Eclpse 7 blade cp

The Eclipse 7 is actually quite a nice radio. It's not very expensive, you can get it for about $200 with the Spectra module (radio only though), but I still remember seeing this thing when a guy...

RE: CF blades

As stevennh said, the CF blades won't give you as good performance as you'd get from the woodies with the stock setup. Go LiPo soon and get the 9T motor and those CF blades will make your heli...

RE: E-FLIGHT BLADE CP

Was just checking out what the 450SE is...it's just like a 450XL but the stock parts are replaced with carbon and aluminum parts and that's all, right?
