RE: CG gentle lady

Actually, the GL is one of those planes you can't do that with. The main spar is located well ahead of the recommended CG range.
Start with it 3.5" from the leading edge.

RE: I'm new to this. Which Futaba small servo's for a Gentle Lady?

Ah. I missed the "ARF" in the original post. In that case, nevermind.

The plane isn't "designed" tail heavy, but as is true with every plane out there the lighter the tail is the less weight...

RE: I'm new to this. Which Futaba small servo's for a Gentle Lady?

Just make sure to keep the tail light. Use carbon pushrods, or better yet go for a kevlar pull-pull setup. Don't use more glue than you need. Use plastic clevises instead of metal ones. Whatever you...

RE: Comp 2M Sailplane

The Image is a real nice one also- I've flown the V-tail and the cruciform tail one, I kinda liked the cruciform a little better. I think (and this is my opinion guys, don't hang me) that the Enigma...

RE: Comp 2M Sailplane

Don't know about the Sobox plane, but the Enigma is a sweet flying little ship. The Whisper's a dog for flatland. Probably pretty good on the slope, though.

RE: Winch-Retriever????

Hi Jerry,
Yep, it should slide between the two rings. Forgot to mention, the retrieve line should pass through a hoop staked into the ground about 15-20 feet in front of the retriever. If not,...

RE: Winch-Retriever????

Mid-50s? You must be in North Florida :)

You should have 2 rings on the tow line. One at the end(ring 1, the tow ring) and one about 6 feet from the end(ring 2). The line between those rings...

RE: Tallahassee soaring

If you haven't paid the club a visit already, I encourage you to...I know some of the guys that fly sailplanes there and they are a good bunch of guys that really know their stuff.

Re: Question about FOAM WINGS on gliders.

Ahh, the old Ace foam wing..What are they? A wing made of molded white foam, like the cheap coolers you see at the 7-11. Used to be made by Ace R/C, and were used on a lot of the RCM plans. They're...

Wing flutter

Oooh, Thomas, don't lump the BoT in with the weaker planes. I've done many a speed run with mine and built right it'll take it. Remember, it WAS an F3B model at one time :)

Re: A BIG kid at heart

Actually, I think most would wonder why you have ONLY two :D

And if I were you I'd put the big heli away and get a sim to practice with. Much cheaper in the long run.

I have 2 of 'em and while the wood isn't the best, it's not the worst. I challenge anyone who thinks the wood is horrible to dig up and build an old Craft-Air kit :D

V tail vers T tail

It has been argued that a properly designed V-tail will weigh the same as a standard configuration-A certain tail volume will weigh the same no matter what configuration it's in. Anyone care to...

I'm getting discouraged

First, make sure that there are no warps in the wing...a little washout may be desirable.
Also, when launching, try throwing the plane at the horizon and let it rotate into the climb by itself.

Just aquired a Gentle Lady....Need help

Built it straight and light..That's really all you need. It launches highest with a very light foot on the pedal. It won't zoom, even if you could stand on the pedal, just comes to a screeching halt...

HERR Cloud Ranger aileron question

What size is the servo on the plan? If it's a micro (HS-55 or CS-20)
they probably expect you to use a servo for each wing. Wouldn't account for the missing rib, though. What exactly do the...

Who makes the best or worse kits on the market

Best kit i ever built was a little Cub from Herr Engineering (Pre-Sig). I swear I could've poured a little glue in the box, shook it around and a plane would have popped out. Perfect wood, perfect...
