RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

I have been away for over a year. I can't believe how strong the following has gotten with this plane. I was here when Glaciergirl and others were first trying to reach the 100 mph zone.

BillZ,

I am across the river in Hudson. I fly my Stryker with the 16/15/4. The stock mount can be made to work, but just barely, IMO. I made a custom aluminum mount for mine and have flown with...

RE: F27 STRYKER, WAY PAST THE LIMITS! PART 4...

Paul,

You have a contradiction in your post:

"I have limited funds" & " my goal is unlimited vertical" = does not compute

I have spent a lot on top quality everything, but I...

RE: F27 STRYKER, WAY PAST THE LIMITS! PART 4...

Bleary,

The chrome looks nice, but my preference still is the bright white foam on top and a flourescent color (orange on my last bird) for the bottom. It just sticks out sooooo much better in...

Any new guys who haven't read all through Part 1, 2, & 3 might find this useful. It also shows what BUMPER CHROME spraypaint looks like on a Stryker.

Download this .pdf to see the mods that most...

Regarding the Hitec Laser 4.

Nice radio, I have the Laser 6. They both have the elevon mixing you need for the Stryker. BUT I agree with the others, if you can wait a while and get a newer...

RE: F27 STRYKER, WAY PAST THE LIMITS! PART 4...

I will also add that I started out with NiMh packs from Battery space and they are good buys for the money. I eventually even opened up the packs and made some 10 cell packs for more power. They will...

RE: F27 STRYKER, WAY PAST THE LIMITS! PART 4...

Your set-up is just like mine except I run a Mega 16/15/4 motor.

You mentioned it was only 30 degrees. I am used to that temp here in Wisconsin, and one thing to make sure of is that you keep...

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS! Part 3

You will see why we run one from nose-to-tail once you start going at brushless speeds and start pulling High-G manuevers, the fuse will develop a permanent bend to it. Same goes for the one rod all...

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS! Part 3

Hagar,

The Orange GWS props are slow-flyer props, so they generally are too flexible for the stryker's needs. Cadetman suggested the APC props, which are still made for electric motors, but they...

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS! Part 3

Cadetman,

Remember that I just have the little Mega 16/15/4, so it is not a huge load compared to to the 25's like GG flies. I have the typical carbon rods just like everyone else is doing. One...

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS! Part 3

I would guess that your battery is too small and may only have an 8C discharge rate. That could give you the pulsing power symptoms. Also, make sure the Lipo is kept warm inside the house before you...
