That´s cool... that $300 version didn´t have the belly airbrake and at least to me landing jumps were quite common at the time. Only when I eyeballed a picture of the newer versions in the internet...

Using Eurokit retracts for ages... they are quite reliable as they have a automatic failsafe by design.

Today the way to go is electron retracts or similar with trailing link legs .
