RE: The Weirdest use of Glow Engines. is this for real?

RE: Kadet LT-40 Wing Sheeting Mod

Clip a wing bay, eliminate 1/2 of the dihedral, add the 1/16" sheeting and cap strips and enjoy. If you go with dual aileron servos maybe clip a 2nd wing bay and add something nice for wing tips.

RE: How much trim is to much?

Do a Google search for "Dean Pappas trimming". You will find 3 downloadable pdf files that will help you understand static trim (what ya do on your bench before you go fly) and dynamic trim (what ya...

RE: Post Upgrade Issue - Mark this Forum Read

Hey Nathan - some time after the OP the problem disappeared (weeks). Wondering if when "marking forum read" is selected that it marks them on the server that I was connected to at that particular...

RE: stowing planes indoors

I have exposed pipes running along the ceiling near (6") the wall. A 6 foot length of good quality string tied into a loop. The loop tossed over the pipe leaving 3 feet of loop on each side of pipe....

RE: My new build

Geez - last time I saw a stick structure like that was when I did a project in middle school - a model of the original oil drilling rig in PA.

As you might well guess - I wasn't into RC back...

RE: Rudder Pushrod Grommet

Micro-balloon paste: Some of us use a paste of Micro-balloons (very very very small glass balloons) and 2-part finishing resin or epoxy to both fill and glue the support tubes to the surrounding fuse...

RE: What's The problem With Photobucket PIX?

Damn - nice to know that I'm lame.

Dave - Thx. I have power point - and all of the other "junk" that comes with Office Pro. I was just thinking out loud that as the "free readers" become move...

RE: Beginning Covering

Bill - of course you can do a solid base - absolutely - the vast majority of coverings have a solid base.  Trim as needed.

RE: Beginning Covering

Bill - there is a technique that I learned from reading Harry Higley's books. I call it using tack strips. Tack strips are 1/4" pieces of trim that are applied at covering seams that benefit from...

RE: Beginning Covering

Bill - bigger is easier! I really hate the little bits because it's hard to hold them still - small and awkward. Yea, if it's not tacky enough to allow you to stretch the film while tacking then it's...

RE: Gold N Rod tips?

sebo - mine went from the basement (65 degrees) to the field (100). The plane was unflyable (is that a word?). I use blue exclusively. The plane is a Hog Bipe - almost a 40 sized plane in length but...

RE: Gold N Rod tips?

When I replaced the gold-n-rod the planes were already built-n-covered. I replaced the inner rod with 2-56 rod. I'd prefer a tighter fit but it has worked out fine. Solder clevis at the servo arm and...

RE: Beginning Covering

Do a search for "strop". Grey Beard was very helpful in explaining what's needed. I think that I included the whole mess in a thread. X-acto #11 and razor blades get a quick "3 pass a side" on my...

RE: Gold N Rod tips?

You can get an excellent finish using Sebo's technique. Done it a bunch of times.

However (the big BUT) - good ole golden rod length changes from day to day especially in the heat requiring that...

RE: What's The problem With Photobucket PIX?

As soon as I review a thread with embedded images I ignore it and go on to other threads for many of the reasons stated by RCKen.

As soon as the OP decides to reorganize his photobucket (PB)...
