RE: Wall charger schematic

Red,
If you think that throwing away electronics is bad, you should see the number of string trimmers that are thrown away for having a cracked primer bulb. I get quite a few trimmer engines each...

RE: Freebe engines

I have found a great source of weedie engines.......The gargage collector. A friend of mine knows a driver of a gargage collection truck. I can usually get more Ryobi weedies from him than I can...

RE: Two Examples of Photoshopped Images

This photoshoped image fooled a lot of our club members. It is a pic of our field, with a fly-in visitor added. Everyone in the club wanted to know when, how, why, who?[ul]

RE: Flying with no vertical stab

I knew that I had seen a pic of a not-4-sale in a recent post. I finally found it.

RE: Swap Meet: Nashville TN, Jan????

A quick update. We've been getting a lot more table reservations for this swap meet, than we usually get. It looks like this one is going to be our biggest by far. I guess the added indoor fly-in...

RE: Swap Meet: Nashville TN, Jan????

Mike,
The Columbia, TN club is holding our annual swap meet on Jan 21. We decided that we needed extra room, due to the increasing size, and have moved the location to Spring Hill, TN. As a...

RE: New engines

I didn't see the scooter that my engine came from, but the fellow that owned it said that the clutch and sprocket mounted to the flywheel. He also said that the clutch and chain were on the right...

RE: New engines

bdtsr,
I have an engine exactly like your scooter engine. I haven't had time to work on it yet, but I did find a big bore Walbro carb, that I will probably use instead of the carb that came on the...

RE: Can It Take Off??

OK, most agree that the plane will fly. What happens when it lands? If it lands in the opposite direction of the conveyor travel, will there be any rollout? Or does it stop all forward motion upon...

RE: SUPER BRAIN 969 PRO

It doesn't look like anyone is going to give an opinion, so I'll step up. The 969 got terrible reviews on this forum, because it will not properly charge Lipo's, even though it was advertised as...

RE: mac conversion

I once made a muffler out of oak. When I revved the engine, it went WOODEN, WOODEN!

RE: Do we still need trainer aircraft??

I think that the Sim would be enough, if they made one where you had to adjust the needle valve before takeoff. Then if you stuck your finger in the virtual prop, it would disable one of the sticks...

RE: Removing chuck from drill press?

There is a possibility that both the shaft and the chuck are ground off-center. If you get the chuck loose, you might try rotating the chuck 180 degrees and trying again. You might be able to get...

RE: How fast???

I saw some info on calculating speed using a sound recording of the engine as it passed by a microphone. You could record the sound on your computer and the program would calculate the speed by...

RE: Glow starter charging

RadicalRC sells a charge cable for glow plug ignitors. For only $3, you get the cable that has the glow plug tip (which fits your ignitor) with banana plugs on the other end with wire heavy enough...

RE: DYI PROP ADAPTER HUBS

When I install the prop adapter, I use a red high strength Loctite thread locking compound on the threads. I haven't found a starter that will loosen it, yet. Just make sure that you clean any oil...

RE: DD motor suggestions

I'm flying mine with a TT Pro 46. With pipe, it's turning around 18,000 with a 9-6 APC. I think your OS header and pipe will fit the Thunder Tiger.

RE: What do you HATE to do?

The main reason I don't build many planes..... I hate having to clean off the workbench in order to have room to build. My bench usually stays about 6" deep in spare parts, along with about a dozen...

RE: Where do you buy scales?

I picked up a digital fish scale that goes up to 50 lbs, at Wally World, last night. It measures in pounds and ounces and was about $17. Works fine. It's a Berkley model FS50.

RE: 4 Star 1.20 and Homie 25cc

I have the servos mounted in the tail of my 4* 120. Mine has a U.S. Engines 41 for power. If you don't already have it mounted, I would suggest enlarging the rudder by about 25%. I helps control...

I have a Weed Eater 21 from a Featherlite trimmer that also looks exactly like this. I'll see if I can get some pics of it.

Another ID this engine thread

I had this engine given to me, but I don't know what it is. It is a 50cc and came off of a "pocket bike". It may have an hour's run time, if that. It wasn't big enough to pull the 185 lb. kid that...
