Anyone have a good suggestion for how to install aileron servos in the wing structure. Using the center rods for flaps

RE: The Long Awaited Ultra Sport 60 Build Thread

Hopefully this is the last retract question for Minn. The intent of your retract is to have the golden rod inner yellow pushrod go all the way into the body and right up next to the pin correct. It...

RE: The Long Awaited Ultra Sport 60 Build Thread

If you look at the images in post 76 you will see the wire hole in the retract. I have the same retracts and struts except my hole is a little closer to the corner I guess because if I install the...

RE: The Long Awaited Ultra Sport 60 Build Thread

Another retract question with the robart retracts. It seems the hole for the retract wire is very close to the corner of the machining. So close in fact I think the retract when slid over the wire...

RE: The Long Awaited Ultra Sport 60 Build Thread

Ok Minn, another retract question,
I have your retracts and am building the wing like yours. I have the outer pushrods installed in the wing, but am concerned about the assembly sequence. When do...

RE: The Long Awaited Ultra Sport 60 Build Thread

Hey Minn,
did you cut down the robart retracts to a shorter length? Mine look longer than yours and end up more between two wing ribs than on one.

RE: The Long Awaited Ultra Sport 60 Build Thread

Ok I have a retract servo question, kind of similar to others wanting more info on the whole servo setup. My wing is not sheeted yet and I was wondering if I should somehow cut the retract servo out...

RE: The Long Awaited Ultra Sport 60 Build Thread

Have a quick question on the 3DX retracts. At least on the set I received there is not a left and right and the gear post is not in the middle of the retract. That means that they will be offset from...

RE: Ultra Sport Arf

It takes me a long time to build a kit and I currently have a ultra sport 60 on my building board, but don't expect to complete it by next spring. My Ultra sport 40+ I wrecked so I now have a surpass...

Ultra Sport Arf

All,
If you had to choose a ARF that is currently in production that is most similar to the ultra sport 40 or ultra sport 40+ what would it be?

RE: The Long Awaited Ultra Sport 60 Build Thread

Another retract question. The plans say to use 1/4" triangle stock to brace the gear rails. That seems small to me and yours looks larger. Any thoughts?

RE: The Long Awaited Ultra Sport 60 Build Thread

Mike,
What did you use to cut out the foam from top of the wing and after it was sheeted? Just an exacto knife? How do you flatten out the bottom of the wheel well? Dremel?

RE: Side Mounted Aileron Servo

Thanks for all the responses. I will pick one of those methods. How thick of plywood do you use for the base?

RE: The Long Awaited Ultra Sport 60 Build Thread

I guess my question with the gear is how do you set the angle? I understand that you put the rear block against the spar and the front block will be located, but the assembly can still pivot. If you...

RE: The Long Awaited Ultra Sport 60 Build Thread

Couple of questions. I am just behind you on this build and am planning on the same setup except with dual aileron servo's. How do you know where to locate the gear blocks when they are one bay out?...

RE: Which Foamy!

RE: First Elec. Plane

I don't have much experience and just thought that transitioning to some 3D may be more benficial if I had an airfoil. Not the case? Thanks for the suggestions!

RE: First Elec. Plane

If you fly from a thick grass field do most people remove the landing gear from their aircraft? My field is mowed but not very often. Also does anyone else have any recommendations?
