Hi RVator,

Just managed to get hold of a Stick 40 plus here in South Africa. Not my first build or plane but I am a fan of things different and this is different.
Hope you don't mind I am...

RE: Sig somethin' extra or GP Extra 60

Hi, I have built two SIG SSE (one for a friend) and I am by no means an experienced builder.
The instructions are very easy to follow and the whole thing fits together like a puzzle.
If you work...

RE: new to building.....help

Thanks Don,

I guess I didn't dig deep enough.
The kits should suit the OP though as they will teach him how to build and fly.

RE: new to building.....help

I may be wrong but both the Kadet Senior and the Kadet Lt-40 show on www.sigmfg.com under KITS and the Lt-40 is also available as an ARF.
Am I looking at the wrong web address?

RE: Not one single kit!

You guys living in the USA are lucky. Here in South Africa we have always struggled to find kits, they are available from 2 LHS countrywide, and one of those has stopped importing them altogether.

RE: new to building.....help

Don't sell that kit! But do put it away and start with something easier. SIG kits are very easy to build, I built a Kadet LT 25, 4 Star, Mid Star and Something Extra with no help but the instructions...

A Sig Mid Star 40, converted for electric flight,
a Sig Somethin' Extra with a Evolution .52 in the nose,
and a skeeter hand launch glider (not quite finished building it yet!)

RE: Battery for Power 46

Just a quick flight report...

I maidened the Mid Star yesterday and the results were fantastic. The motor, esc and battery combination worked flawlessly, that Power 46 pulled the plane better than...

RE: Trainers - How easy are they?

You should get help with starting. Your airplane should be checked out and trimmed by someone with experience and set up correctly.
Taking off and flying in circles could possibly be accomplished by...

RE: Flight Report - My Midstar

Congratulations!
What a great aircraft. I know, I maidened mine yesterday as well. Very stable and gentle and capable of flying really slowly.
I built it for my son after his 4 Star went to balsa...

RE: evolution .46 nx engine ??help??

I fly evolution engines and they fly well once you have them set up. On some engines you can move the needle valve to the carburetor itself. Just take off the back plate, unscrew the cap on the carb...

RE: Well, it finally happened...

I had a GP Stik 40 and it failed in exactly the same place but at least I know why: I was diving too steeply and pulled up too suddenly with too much power on. I know, stupid.
I have seen a few...

RE: Battery for Power 46

Thanks Dr Kiwi,

That's exactly the answer I was hoping for. I am going to have the plane finished next week, just the wings to cover now and then will maiden her with the 13" prop.

RE: I all most hit some people today

My "almost" story...

If I hadn't been a part of this I wouldn't have believed it: I was landing my Big Stik 40 when a sudden, violent gust of wind turned the plane sideways. I corrected but in a...

RE: Spektrum DX6i problem.

I agree, the radios do work very well and are great value.
We don't have Horizon in South Africa, at least not directly, so shipping it back to them isn't possible. I have spoken to my retailer who...

I think I need a lecture! The loss of that particular plane hurt [:@] I realize its my fault and blame no one. I just wanted to see if the problem could perhaps be attributed to the...

Spektrum DX6i problem.

I read about the DX6i recall which mentioned a potential problem with the potentiometers on some models.
After checking my date code I realized that my transmitter was one of the "suspect" ones and...

RE: Twin motors set up.

Thanks AJ,

I think we will have to disconnect the power from one ESC.
Which wire do I cut? I assume the red one coming from the ESC but don't want to make a mistake :D

Each has its own ESC and battery. What is the best way to control both from his throttle?
Does he plug one...
