RE: Brushless F-27 Stryker

neo,
Welcome to what we call the Dark Side of the Stryker.
If you go over to the "Park Flyers" section there is a forum on the Stryker. "Way past the limits" is already on part 4. Go over there...

RE: Brushless F-27 Stryker

You will have the opposite problem. Higher wind means more torque less speed, lower amps.
To get anything big out of it, you'll need to step up to a 7x7 prop and 4s pack, but then you'll need a...

RE: Brushless F-27 Stryker

Not a good sign if the motor doesn't spin up. And the pack will put out 27 amps safely, but I believe you can actually drag more out of it then that. But at a cost to the batteries life.
Plus if...

RE: Brushless F-27 Stryker

Sorry, I couldn't find any specs on the Ultrafly motor, in the calc programs.
But in reading your other specs, your pack is good for 20 amps constant, but Esc is good for 25 amps constant(original...

RE: Brushless F-27 Stryker

If you are loosing both motor and flight controls, I would look for a poor battery to esc or esc to Rx connection. If it was an esc problem, you would not loose controls, only motor would shut down.

RE: Brushless F-27 Stryker

344 sq. in.
On a 6x4 with your set up,it's pulling 20.5 amps, which is about max for the pack.
Per Motocalc. WOT flight, 6 min, 36 seconds. Flight time.

RE: Brushless F-27 Stryker

What size prop? I can run specs for you and find out a ball pack on times.
I use no tape on my Strykers, NONE.
Go to the park flyers section, look up the Stryker forum "Way past the...

RE: Brushless F-27 Stryker

All else being equal, it will drawl huge amounts of amps.
Thrust will go up a little and so will speed. But as I said, all being equal. You would have to go to a much larger capacity pack to...

RE: Brushless F-27 Stryker

Nice job on the Strykers, does your hatch set up look something like this? One of my first "Thumper" versions.
One other thing, when you step up the speed. Other components need to be beefed up....

Hey it was built for a one time, all out Banzi run, had to collect Cadetmans $2.00 bet for breaking the sound barrier.;) And it did fly twice, I smacked the nose on a tent peg on landing. [:@] ...

RE: Brushless F-27 Stryker

If you have really deep pockets, see post 164.
Otherwise try a Mega 16/25/4 with a Graupner cam speed 7x7, use a PolyQuest 4s1800 20c pack, and an Ultimate ubec. You'll be running 100 mph.;)

RE: Brushless F-27 Stryker

Gen1 has 3 piece wing, look for jigsaw puzzle line about 4" in on the wing tip.
Gen 2 has one piece wing, and additional cooling holes in the bottom of the fuselage. Also it has the CG locations...

RE: Brushless F-27 Stryker

Gearbox set up would give you a high thrust, low speed bird.
I did a little playing on Motocalc. Closest I could find was the 2025-4200. 3s lipo with a 5.5 x 5 will make a very fast bird, and...

RE: Brushless F-27 Stryker

Easiest way to reinforce the fuselage. Take a 5/16" or 3/8" carbon fiber tube, if you can't find at your hobby shop go to Walmart and buy an arrow shaft @$3.00, Chamfer the outside edge down to the...

RE: Brushless F-27 Stryker

There have been a few on the other site E-zone that attempted this. One that was putting out over 1000 watts of power. As of yet, I've not seen a successful version. But there's always hope.
Please...
