RE: DA 100 or 120?

I am running the Biela 27x12 3D (2 blade) on my 120 on stock mufflers. Turns 6450 and pulls like a freight train. Also tried the mejzlik 28x12 and did not like it and went right back to the Biela...

RE: First Mintor 3M 110cc engine in North America

There are several threads on the FG site about the 110.

RE: GP 38% extra 330s on a DLE111?

The 3w 170 was about an ounce or two at most heavier than a DA 150. The plane was built stock except modifying it to put the rudder servos in the tail for balance. Also, I believe changing out the...

RE: GP 38% extra 330s on a DLE111?

I had a 3w 170cs in mine, was just right. Go with the DLE 170.

RE: JC Super Props

I got a 24x8 to try, I had to add .5oz to the hub to get it to balance, and still would not balance so threw it in the trash.

RE: 50cc -Whose is the smoothest?

I will throw in my opinion, 3w 55xi CS. Smoothest running single anything I have run or seen. Awesome performance and one of the best engines I have owned to date.

RE: 3w 120i b 2 f

I can't remember who is making them, but someone is making the aluminum carb block for the old style 3w engines.

RE: 3W 80 - Need help

Have you read the instructions for the ignition? Here is an excerpt. Are you sure the engine is drawing fuel? My 80 was a PITA to get primed. I think my choke butterfly had a hole in it and...

RE: ZDZ60-can I use penzoil aircooled?

Pennzoil will be just fine. If I remember correctly ZDZ does not recommend any leaner ratios than 40:1, at least that is what I remember from my ZDZ days. Yes the ZDZ's are a bit higher compression...

RE: 3w 55xi

Not sure, the 55xi is only a couple ounces more than a DA/DLE. Does the raven have a provision for the rudder servo in the tail? I think putting the rudder servo in the tail or batteries in the aft...

RE: 3w 55xi

I don't have any pictures with the cowling off. It has the same mounting pattern as the DA so if you have a template you are good to go. I would definitely go with a can on the 3W. However, since...

RE: 3w 55xi

Well, the good thing about this one is it is only a few ounces heavier than a DA/DLE. Not as light as the BME of course, but on par with the other 50-60cc engines in weight except the MVVS 58 which...

RE: 3w 55xi

Good info, I had quite a bit of experimentation with props on my BME 58 as well (ES CF Pipe too). My 3w pulled all the same props a few hundred rpms better, but the real difference is the BME...

3w 55xi

Just curious if anyone else is running one of these engines and what your impressions are? I have had my 55xi CS for about 5 months and it just keeps on amazing me. I realize with all the cheap...

RE: Cannisters running hot on 3W 170

Good Point RTK, FYI the optimum header length for the 170 3W cans is around 6.5", no shorter than 6". I would go back down to 6.5" on the headers and find out what is causing the problem. Can you...

RE: Testors Tansparent Black Window Tint?

Never needed to add a flex agent. Just took some 1000 grit wet sandpaper to the inside, and shot it with the clear and done deal.

RE: Testors Tansparent Black Window Tint?

Some plastics will take the rit dye and some will not, just have to test it. Get a test piece and get the water as hot as you can without it distorting the plastic.

RE: Testors Tansparent Black Window Tint?

I use automotive clear with a drop or two of black or whatever color you want it to be, works like a champ.

RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!!

Thanks for the dimensions, from the looks the pilot rc gear will not work. It is 6.3" across at the top, 7.68" tall, 18.11" at the base and 1.57" wide at the top. Everything matches well except the...

RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!!

I just tweaked my gear a bit. If the pilot rc gear is a match I would like to go that route and save some weight. I guess if anyone doesn't have the measurements I will just pull mine off.
