Default JMP Firebird

Jet Model Products Firebird needs a little attention - Hysol/areo-poxy & carbon plate sandwich (see pics), but I just do not have the time to give it. It comes complete with everything minus engine, RX & batts., and includes the (CG) balance boards, and new set of tires (mains).

SPECS:
Length: 92 1/2 in. Wingspan: 81 in.
Wing Area: 1200 sq. in. Height: 22 1/2 in.
Fuel Capacity: 168 oz. Thrust: 18-40 lbs

Further information can be found at http://www.jetmodelproducts.com/firebird.htm

The plane has never been crashed, but did have a gear-up landing years ago by the previous owner. The plane was flown last week at First In Flight. It's a great flying plane that is incredibly smooth and a real "head turner".

$2000 OBO

Can I see bottom of plane. And how did damage occur without a crash?

Hi Mike,

Pic attached.

Yes, the one Dave got from Sung.

Damaged? That a good question...I think it has been like that, but I just noticed it now, and can’t say with 100% certainty. I literally put 6 flights on it since I've had it.

George,

Mine and Shui’s cracked those formers in the exact same spot. They are essentially part of the wing spars, and the weak spot is where the holes are drilled. It happens when you’re running it hard, and pull a little too much g in a turn or pull-up. I reinforced mine with carbon plate and hysol, and it was fine after that. Good luck.
