Roger, have you tried the RCU Community?
http://www.rcuniverse.com/community/contestantreg.cfm
It has a bunch of useful features including a club locator:

And an event calendar:

In all cases of the forums you mention they are not dedicated to racing, rather the products of those companys. In most cases those same forums are actually hosted and supported by the companies in the title as product support forums.

From: , VA,
Racer and basher are different as night and day, Most racer take very good care of their vehicles and have top of the line radios, servos, engines, pipes, and vehicles. Most (Not all, you know who you are) throw the vehicles in the closet still wet and have stock radios, stock engines, stock servos, stock pipes, stock vehicles. RTR is getting better but it ain't that good, and a lot of the stock radio and stock servo or door stops and paper weights. Its like the people that go to the fly field and the ones who talk about it. That race he is looking for car and truck set up and other racer, That basher (not all) is looking for some one to help start his engine (because he has not primed his engine, or did not charge his glow starter or never change his glow plug). Its like RTF and kits (some ARF) analog and digital. What do you have, guess what I have. It nice to see a vehicle that is taken care of, I don't see many vehicle with on your site with a 1/4" of nitro oil and dirt on them. 90% of all racer take care of their vehicles 25% of all basher take care of theirs. Go to your local hobby shop and "see" the vehicles they are working on, probably never been cleaned. Night and day.
Thanks Roger
Thanks Roger
