SJ 2300/ 3000 "S" Models
Hello Kerry, Lars, Kim, et al-
I was on the Simjet site last night and saw this....
New Simjet Engines
2300-S AES and 3000-S AES
The new Simjet 2300-S AND 3000-S have a new designed difuser / shaft tunnel and a new front cover like the Nexus
The new engines have slightly lower fuel consumption they run colder and both types can be delivered with direct fuel start
I'm glad to see the boys in Denmark staying up with the other manufacturers, by (among other things) adding kero start Now the big question..... Can I have my SJ-3000AES (Gaspar FADEC) upgraded to kero start, and what's the approximate cost?
Kerry, what's the best time to contact you for technical support? My SJ-3000 still isn't perfoming the way it supposed to (no fault to anyone related to the Simjet product line, just mine for not knowing how to work with the parameters in the Gaspar FADEC).
Brg,
Mark

Are there any other differences between the S models and the older models? I have just bough a new in box 3000. It's not the S model. The engine is manufactured in 2007.
Is the weight of the engine less on the new model?

RE: SJ 2300/ 3000 "S" Models
Hi Lars,
No, the older engines are slightly less weight due to the fact that they had "Spun" Inlet covers and lighter Compressor covers. The newer engines have larger Compressor covers with internal front cover mounting for the machined Inlet covers thus slightly more weight of aprox. +/6 Oz.
Best Regards,

RE: SJ 2300/ 3000 "S" Models
Thanks Kerry.
The reason I asked is the weight of my engine. It's slightly over 1700 grams (inkluding starter motor and cables attached to the engine) , but the Simjet website states under 1500 grams.
1500 grams is without starter motor etc?
Anyway, not a big deal, just curious

Lars, I do not think the main Simjet-Dk web site has caught up to the newer S series weights. The weight I gave is accurate.
The good news is that you are getting something for the added weight and that is the much stronger fornt cover which will take a lot more abuse and still maintain starter alignement and protection for the electronics and fittings undern the cover.
Best Regards
