Glow plug replacement

What kind of life can I expect from the glow plug in my 2300? Also,what type should I use for a replacement?Thank you.

Hi Erik

The life expectancy on the glow plug should be quite long. It's difficult to give an actual "time" or "cycles" because the glow plug is only used during the start sequence and spends most of it's time off.

For replacement plugs, we recommend using McCoy #9s. We have found these to be the most consistent and durable plugs to use.

Thanks.My jet just arrived,and I can't wait to get cracking on the install.I don't think I've been this excited since the first time they turned me loose on a DC-9.Stay well!

I have tryed Rossi plugs, McCoy #9, and I could not get them to thread with out cross threading. So I decided to try a Fox Miricle plug, because they have a beveled flange, so it threaded nicely. Also I got just over 50 starts with my original plug.

Please stay away from Rossi #8 plugs. While some will work, many give very poor starting performance.

In general, almost any non-idlebar will work, and seem to last quite a while. McCoy #9's have just developped to be our preference.
