i have a futaba t6axas radio that is now on channel 45. i would like to change it to 38. can i unplug the small black numbered "box" on the bottom left of the radio, and plug in the new one. i have heard that this might not be the thing to do, but if not, why is it so easy to do. thanks

Hi rccub,
No, it is against FCC regulations to change the transmitter crystal without sending the radio in to be retuned.
It is there and easy access, in the case of it being damaged and a new crystal of the same channel number having to be inserted.
I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.
