I've had the B-58 setting around here long enough. I didn't like several things about the way I had designed it in the past so I decided to redo everything and turn this in to a test bed for the new one I'm designing. Re-hinged the elevon's, moved the servo from using a torque rod to using a control arm. Hopefully that will prevent the possibility of flutter. Hooked the Drag Chute and release up and it works perfect. Now I need to start on the massive amounts of hanger rash. Wish they made Benadryl for this kind of RASH !

That thing is gorgeous. years ago I had a VHS tape of one ots flights when it was DF and I was always amazed thinking you had reached the pinnacle of the sport if you could do something of that magnitude. As corny as it may seem, your work was a ninspiration to some of us. Can't wait to see its revival.

So true! I remember staring in awe at this plane at a ducted fan fly-in somewhere in Texas long long ago. It was awesome back then and with turbines I'm sure even more so now. I would very much like to see it fly in person again. Very motivational. Keep us posted.

When was the last time that you flew it, weight and was it ducted fan or turbine ?

Didn't the first one just have 4 OS .46s driving cut down BVM rotors?

Lee I'm sure that can be arranged. It will be a little different with 52#'s + of thrust instead of 24#'s with one or two engines quitting! You won't have to milk the take off! Ha! Lynn wants to see it very bad.

I'd go classy, a pair of small can VT80's should fit inside those two inboard nacelles just fine. They would act like a bypass tube.

I worry about the landing gear though. Looks like a delicate work of art.
Does the nose gear swing out like the real one?

Joe the fuse length is 125" and the wing span is 73.1". Same as old one . I'm going to use K-60G turbines. The original only had 24#'s of thrust. So this one should preform a little better. Butch
