We will be spending next week travelling down the Washington and Oregon coast from Bellingham to Portland- can anyone recommend good R/C hobby shops to visit - with good selection and decent prices.

Hobby Town near Tacoma is a nice little shop with good prices and a friendly atmosphere. They do have some nice new stuff like the GP Gee Bee and other new planes.

Thanks Ryan - do you have an address for them - I can pull up the location on Mapquest so I don't spend all day on the freeways !!!

Ted's is the best prices and he will tell you straight up without sugar coating the answer. He will tell you how long to get something and he's honest. some places promise 1 or 2 days to get your order and then don't deliver. There is a new place in Janzen Beach Mall. I highly recommend you don't go! They don't have anything and they are high priced. I went in and looked around. I was was thinking about ordering some engines in the near future. they had a cool plane on the ceiling so I took a picture with my cell phone. A few seconds later one of the owners chews me out for taking a picture and starts to approach me very aggressively. When I explained I thought the plane was cool he chewed me out more and accused me of taking the picture to take to another store as if I was spying. The same servo they had for $26, Ted's has for $15.99. Big difference. Tammies does have more and it's a good place to go, but they're slight higher priced than Ted's too.

Best hobby shop (argueably) comming down I-5 is in Burlington, Wa.
Preformance RC about 3 minuets off the freeway.
Suzie is the owner, and has the best customer service going. Their number is 360-755-9464
Also in Everett, Tim's hobby has incredible selection and is a big store. What I like about Tim's is he lets people sell their planes hanging from the ceiling..I gotten some swoooop deals there.
Call me when you get 1/2 hour south of Bellingham, I'll meet you at the hobby shop if you want..

I have to agree about the guy at Janzen Beach - I run Nitro trucks, and their kits were all at least $100 higher than anywhere else. COuple of tools working in there as well

Where is the nearest hobby shop from janzen beach (only being to that shop I thought maybe this hobby was dead). Is there any others in the area that are decent?
