Byron 10% seems quite sour, yet Cool Power 15% seems to be too sweet. Tower 10% is bland but their 15% is more pleasant to the nose when the engine is rich. I must admit, I perfer the aroma of old man Jack's home brew 90% that he cooks up for his boats. That stuff, mixed in with the earthen smells and dead fish of the local pond, really get my senses going.

I took about a 10 year hiatus from the sport, and the first couple times back at the field the smell of glow fuel put a smile on my face.
My son even commented about that old familiar smell. He was about 3 or 4 when I quit flying.

I've been in love with that smell since I was a kid.
In fact, my mom has a standard joke...
Whenever my dad and I would be at the field on a crummy day and someone would say "But they can't FLY in this weather!" my mom would say,
"They just meet out at the field and pour fuel on each other."

Yeah, R/C nitro is cool, but if you want REAL nitro go to your local drag racing track when the top fuel cars are running!!!!! 95% nitro, you cant, hear, see or breathe IT'S GREAT!!!

I guess that is why I go to the field when I am not in the mood to fly. Just be a helper and get covered in smoke. I like the smell of caster better than synthetic but that is just my preference.

Hey guys, just one question, I know that this isn't related to the topic.....but I have been goin to the flying field, and when I come home, I have a little hole in my shirt. Well, it gets washed, and then the holes are like 10 time bigger. Does that nitro, or something cause this to happen? I was just wondering. I mean, I don't wear any "good" clothes when I go fly, but it still doesn't look good when you have lots of holes in your shirt? Thanks.
