The new RC Universe Toolbar is ready for download!
#1
I've been asked about this quite a bit since the launch and I am happy to say we have the new toolbar ready to go.
You should uninstall any old RC Universe or RC Airport toolbars prior to installing this.
The install is web based, easy and takes about a minute or two for broadband users and a couple extra minutes for dial up.
From the toolbar you can:
[ul][*] Search forums directly[*] Go to new posts directly[*] Go to MYForums directly[*] Go to ALL forums directly[*] Go to your Private Message inbox directly[*] View specific forum areas directly (i.e. cars, airplanes, helis...)[*] Go to RCU Main homepage directly[*] Go to your MyMarket area directly.[*] Go to classifieds or auctions directly[*] Go to specific areas of classifieds or auctions directly
[/ul]
The toolbar is a huge click saver and handy. Also included for FREE as part of the toolbar is a popup stopper. Of important note is that you cannot use the popupstopper on RC Universe as we use popup windows for bidding, offers, posting and so on. As the toolbar ships it is OFF BY DEFAULT so unless you enable this function it is not a problem on RC Universe. However you can enable it as you go through other sites that might use popup advertisements but just remember to turn it OFF when you come to RCU.
Here is the install link:

Enjoy!

I find the new toolbar works pretty good as is, but just a few questions / noticed problems.
Any updates planned? the ability to select indevidual forums?? as opposed to just general forums??
#1FYI When using the Forum's Search from the Forums drop down, the "[X] less sinsetive match" needs to be the default' rcv'd no results for k&b engine without checking the less precise match box? (no results found are still white letters on lt.gray background)
#2FYI When using Search window' I entered k&b engine and rcv'd this
Search >> Search for records that match all words in [ k ] by author "Anyone" I retyped thinking I goofed and got the same thing.
#3??? When Cars, Planes, Electric, Helicopters or boats is selected" they come up with the RCUniverse.com FAQ,, Radios, Engines, Batteries, Clubhouse and more,, RC Universe Support forums, was this intended to be? to keep the FAQ's and others at hand?
PS: why is the top 3 color schemes the same on the Text Color Chart??
Thank's

#3 - yes...all come up by design as they are "common" areas
what do you mean by "top 3 color schemes"? I don't undertand that question
#2 - did you try it in quotes? The "&" is definitely messing up the query
#1 - I like to keep the more precise match by default to come up with more relevant results. this seems to be the better option the bulk of the time except for edge cases but if this turns out to NOT be the case I can change default easily

#3 OK was just curious
#2 No did not use quotes, just typed> k&b engine (no quotes or others) OK I just tried k and b engine, K B engine, K"&" B engine, "K&B engine", and "k and b" engine, Got the same No Results. [edit#2] BUT if I search wornboots it comes back with 100+ hits [edit4]
#3 The "SEARCH FORUMS" page that comes up when you click on the "drop-down" Forums Menue. (Or the Yellow SEARCH atop the forums)
Returns no results when entering k&b engine
But if you CHECK the Less Precise match box, it returns 300 hits and does the same for some other searches, I was thinking it would be of help to have the "Less Precise match box" checked by default? which at presant it isn't.
Go to a Reply with full features box, type a test text and choose a color to apply to the text, when the color box opens the top 3 schemes are the same. At least on My computer, the three have the same shades of blues and greens etc. the lower schemes have variations.
