Best US model store where to place an order ?
#1
Hello,
I'm willing to buy some stuff (tuned pipes, Norvel engines, K&B engines ...) from the US 'cause french dealers suck suck suck ! I've heard a lot about tower hobbies. Is it the best one ? Is there any other good reliable store ?
Has any european modeller gone through a transatlantic order ? for an engine, the intern'l postage charges are around 30 USD to France.
Do you have any feedback / idea ?
Thanks a lot !

do not forget www.quantummodels.com
and for engines closer to you in the UK (irvines, leos, ASP and others):
www.justengines.unseen.org
For radios check in the UK also.. they are closer than US (less postage)

Here is a canadian one that is pretty good. They even speak French if you feel like calling. http://www.greathobbies.com They have pretty much everything. No K&B engines though.
What I don't like about tower is the flat rate shipping - at least when they ship to Canada. It is quite expensive unless you place a large order.
The above will charge actual shipping costs.

All of the mentioned sites are quite good.
I also like Chief Aircraft. They carry a large selection of aircraft and engines, chargers, etc.

Tower has by far the best website with easy to find items, fantastic search engine.

Strykaas,
A buddy from Newfoundland once gave me the website for a Canadian mail order place that has some pretty good prices. I am searching for it as we speak and will post it when I find it. Not sure but that you might find duty and other taxes easier to overcome shipping from CA?

Hobby Lobby International has good products and great customer service.
And, so does Don's Hobby Shop.
Both have friendly and helpful people.
