Hi windtalker,
The FGK series was first manufactured in 1983. If the transmitter you are looking at is AM and not Gold Stickered it is not legal for use. If it is Gold stickered you will be fine, but please remember that we here at the Service Center no longer carry parts for, nor do we service this old discontinued radio.
I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.
Sincerely,
Krysta
