crystal installation question
#1
Does it matter how you install a transmitter crystal with respect to its orientation to the plug that it fits into (right/left, front/back)?
I've got a Futaba 6DA transmitter. At a fly-in, I was asked to remove my transmitter's crystal in order to maintain impound security while I took my radio back to my pit area to charge it. I had never done this before, so I asked the guy running the impound area if orientation mattered with regards to how I put the crystal back into the transmitter. He said it did not, so I didn't bother to make note of the original orientation of the crystal. I just slapped it back in and everything seems to work fine.
My question for you is: Does orientation of the transmitter crystal matter when plugging it back in? Or can I get away with plugging it back in any which way?
thanks,
Greg
