laser? looks more like someone chasing it around with a torch, or why is the photocell being lit up if the beam is invisible
ahh i see, the photo is from the first flights which used a stage light, ok..
this isn't much different from the solar powered high attitude craft they have, other than where the light comes from.


something more dramatic i saw a few years ago was a crome cone which had a laser pulsed under it, the beam pushed it skyward before it over heated and blew up. once they perfect the heat sheild they hope it's a cheap way to launch rockets without expensive heavy rocket fuel.
