CEN MT2 monster truck
With radio on and truck on -the steering servo always works no matter what .
The throttle servo will work with the truck in my hand off the ground all the time. ( running)
Put the truck on the ground and walk away and it works.
start driving it and the throttle stops working (goes to an idle)( but the steering keeps working) If I walk over to truck and play with throttle it will start working again for a sec.
I have the truck on the work bench and there is nothing I can do to make the throttle stop working on the benck with the engine off.
Futaba 3PK radio with non digital futaba reciever.
I switched crystal in the radio to try another buggy and it works flawlessly.
What would be the most common problems to cause this?
reciever?
vibration causing the servo to stop?
the pull start rubbing on the throttle linckage?
I can swap recievers BTW from my other buggy as a test
BTW it is never a run-a-way. always goes to idle.
I'm starting to wonder if it is a setting in the radio.Hummm
I have 2 cars with 2 settings for each.

Sounds like some kind of issue with vibration. If it's the one, particular servo, then it should be replaced. You need to go through the model, checking thoroughly to see. It could be the lead, a pin in the receiver, something internal to the servo, and so on.

thanks for the reply.
All I know so far is if I turn the fail safe in the radio to OFF the problem goes away.
I havn't gone any farther than that yet.

you can't use a 4 AA battery pack( even with the good Nimhyd radio shack AA's) with the battery fail safe.
I bought a battery pack and now it is fine.
I guess the AA's discharge too fast and make the fail safe think their dead or something.

Hmmmm....you mentioned that you were using a "non-digital" receiver. We assumed that to mean a PPM and not a PCM receiver. PPM receivers don't have battery failsafe, only the PCM ones. That's one reason we didn't think of the battery failsafe angle.

Ok well this is good and bad.
good cause I'm learning, bad if i gave you wrong info. sorry.
I have a 3PK radio with a R113iP reciever.
The LHS told me my reciever was NOT digital.
I am in PCM mode.
